Least if Madge gets the ass he shouldn't find it to hard to get another gig.
No will hold his failure at the Tigers against him.
Only bellyache and jesus could fix this club...

Bellyache would fold
Jesus is a myth

Hopefully next week Ivan can help get another coach out of wests

My God - the Panthers next week. Now I know how Custer must have felt.

Custer was confident of total victory a better comparison would be Von Paulus in November 1942

His post battle interviews were good though:

The 6th German Army is always in the battle…
That’s not the real 6th German Army…
That’s not how we trained…

Never seen the club play with such a lack of effort both defensively and offensively - on top of our evident struggles to attract any player who comes on the market who could’ve made massive differences to this team.

And the cherry on top, it’s clear the players don’t wanna play for him and have just given up on Madge’s direction

Yes Mbye, Reynolds, Packers and Mcqueens are all gone now, but what positive impact does that do when no one wants to even come to us regardless of the money being thrown

Let’s stop riding on Madge’s premiership he won nearly 7 years ago, and analyse what he’s doing for us.

It’s extremely clear to me we need a new direction immediately, cause this road is a dead end!

I can not believe that many want Maguire next season ? what changes basically same roster .. same coach.. same unmotivated group am I missing something .
Moving the coach on is not exactly turning over coaches at a fast rate Maguire has been the coach for 3 seasons so not exactly panicking how much failure does it take !
The team has been on a decline since the first game he coached 3 seasons ago ,this is not his team .. this is his team that is crap. The players are not responding to his style of coaching his assistants offer nothing if they did you would see it .
The Board will be negligent to Stake holders/ members and supporters not to move Maguire on and also a few contracted players to boot .

Have to agree the direction comes from the Board and there use to be in fighting between appointed members they represented both merged clubs but now that Wests have majority control that is no longer an issue, yet we still can't make the eight.

As members think we need to look at whom is on the board.
https://www.weststigers.com.au/siteassets/about/wests-tigers-board/lee.png?center=0.34%2C0.51&preset=card-default-585x420

WE need to punt a few of them 1st looking at there current Cv's there are at least 3 i would punt now.
Then the CEO and coach next.

The culture comes from the Top of how an organization is run and results driven the board sets this agenda.
KPI'S are aligned with this to measure performance, what are these relating all involved with the club.

What is our identity?
Where is the direction playing home games. (COVID precluded)
When is the last time there was a full internal review conducted of management?

Pascoe - Centre of Excellence what's the latest?
Where are your updates, what happened to ask the boss segment lol

Madge - are win ratio has gone backwards this season?
Why does the playing group not turn up on game day?
Why do you think we can still play finals football in 21?

Hartigan - Although not paying overs (Tick) why can't we attract any high profile players?

Change the top and the bottom will follow we have an opportunity to do this now not next season.

When you think about what we need at this moment, Bennett makes a lot of sense with Sheens still on board…..

So many posters saying give Madge next year because next year is finally his squad?

So let me see, Packer gone and Mbye gone next year because I think most of the other players were signed or re-signed on Madge’s watch.

So with no Packer and no Mbye we will play a lot better?

Am I missing something?

Shhhhhh. You're thinking too much about it. Tiger = good and you're not a supporter if you think otherwise. Didn't you see those dedicated supporters in that doco? True supporters are like them!!!!! Completely deluded and buying heaps of merch!!!!!!!

I’m over hearing about how good our young players are. Laurie, AD, Blore, Stefano. Some people talk them up like it’s the early stages of a repeat of 05. It 100% is not. They are ok, but every club has promising rookies. Ours aren’t better than most other clubs

It's a false dichotomy. People think there are 2 choices = sack madge and start rebuild
Or keep madge and continue this rebuild he's doing... we can sack madge, and work with what we've got and continue to rebuild...

What do we have to lose? A new coach will follow a similar focus on junior development, but, god forbid, may actually have us playing well and building on the field too... he may also be smarter and a better coach than Maguire but all that matters is Maguire's prem with Souths and in the SL. All people care about is accolades, not how the coach actually appears... which is kinda of out of touch... and the results directly under his watch... which are horrendous. I will say once again, IVAN CLEARY had us playing better.

I’d be surprised if marquee players weren’t coming to the tigers because of Hartigan. Surely his job is to identify talent and put the club in the room with the manager and the player. He seems to be doing a good job of identifying the players we need but the club is the one that isn’t closing the deal. Surely it must come down to the fact that our marquee stocks are so thin, any one recruit looks at us and just thinks we have no chance. The best marquee players are winners, they will get paid pretty similar wherever they go due to the salary cap and above all they want to win. West’s Tigers are a losing club with a losing culture or at least that is the perception. I honestly don’t know how you can change that perception without actually achieving something first. Perhaps if we were able to recruit 2 or 3 quality players together we might be able to convince them and their managers that they won’t be on their own but that is next to impossible to realise (and it failed with the Reynolds/mbye/packer/matalino crew). Perhaps if we recruited an absolute top coach like Bennet we might be able to jag a better quality recruit (but more likely a Gagai or Darius Boyd type thats not the top tier). In reality the only way I can see us getting out of this is to keep lifting the best quality 20yr olds we can find who are looking for chance in first grade and hope that we can assemble an organic squad that starts to make the finals. Then perhaps we can convince a true marquee to come here and lift us towards the top 4.

He at least recognised that the junior path ways are very important and has put lots of effort behind it so we can bring our juniors through the system like Panthers have done...and look where they are now..we have quality young guys atm but they need experience within the NRL SYSTEM,which takes time and hard work to get right..
When Hartigan can recruit some hard experienced players willing to work hard at the WTs then we will see success...our middle and backs are not DECENT NRL quality, for all the mention of loyalty etc,how does Noffa,Brooks etc get put on a pedastal and yet produce anything but NRL standard football....

Mmmm junior pathways. Mavoni, Camroux.

We were leading the comp when jersey flegg shut down. Lets see how many kick on.

Like our premiership winning under 20's side. Look at the success that lead to.

The opposite of what you said is true. Sack Madge and hire Flanagan no doubt improves your ability to sign veteran players. Keep Madge and start a rebuild full throttle. That includes releasing Brooks, Tamou and Nofa.

I see it differently Madge is the best coach available for the rebuild with younger players he struggles to attract top end talent.

Yesterday was a debacle. But it was to be expected. I thought we’d get flogged. Why? Because we are not in touch with the modern game.
Andrew Johns wrote a column this week where he said that the average teams – ie teams like us – are playing the game in a style that is reminiscent of the Storm of two to three years ago. And he is right.
Like many on this forum I have been watching the game for a long time (the 70s in my case). I have absolutely no idea what our defensive structure is. And it seems nor do the players. What appears to happen though is that it is easy for teams to get overlaps on us.
Nor do we have a ”shape” in attack that is suitable to the modern game. Our attack is the standard attack trotted out by standard teams. The game has moved on – it is a far cry from 2014.
I do not blame the players. Shapes and strategies in attack and defence are the responsibility of coaching staff, not players.
It is blindingly obvious that Maguire must be tapped. Let him finish this season then we should say goodbye. His recent record as a coach demands nothing less. In the last four years his record is pretty bad: in 2016 and 2017, Souths came 12th; at the Tigers he kept us at 9th in 2019, then 11th in 2021. This year we are sliding down to 13th. In the last two years he has about a 30% win rate.
His time is up. His ranting and raving is boring and shows he is limited. Sheens first job must be to get another coach for next year.
I reckon we are headed for the spoon under Maguire next year. I do not see the club improving under him.

I think it’s counter productive. Next coach will fail for at least 2 years. They will be under immense pressure. I would ride it out with Madge at minimum until the end of next year if we don’t improve cut ties. You will attract a better coach further along the rebuild. A lot of our best performing younger players are fans of Madge.
Sacking Madge is not smart. Are we any lower on the table than we should be based on talent? I’d say we are where we deserve to be. I don’t think Bellamy gets this squad any better even though I rate him as the best.
