We currently have reasonable squad and we need a lot of things to go our way to succeed beyond scratching to make the 8.
Also it’s imperative to address our failing to win games that on paper are ours and to put to bed the close ones.
Lot of sides have improved rosters this year so I see us in there competing but no certainty’s to make it.

According to many experts Wests Tigers suck and shouldn't beat any team on paper...errr maybe Titans..just..

I'd back Madge to give 3/4 of our players a flogging if it came to blows. He's got that psychotic edge about him. Maybe that's why Matterson wet the bed and did a runner, Madge might've threaten the ponce with a beatdown.
I think it's great to have a coach that players feel a bit physically intimidated by. Keeps them in their box IMO.

Manly are strong imo.

Nothing will change without a real no9. Moses M and Walters may do the job but without the real McCoy. Good teams have very good no9s. Without Farah last year we would have been close to spooners,he won us about three games on his own.

Agree, if we’re to be a serious threat to the top teams we will need a 9 . A 9 who gels really well with our 7 , 6 &1. Particularly our 7.

Yeah I agree with this. If we don’t get the swap deal through we are not looking anywhere near as strong. A specialist 9 makes a huge difference. Impacts your bench selection too.

Hmm I think we all should start saying top 4 instead of top 8. Coming 8th isn't going to get us anywhere. Madge brought in last year to train until the grand final to get used to putting in until the end.

Saying top 4 will hopefully make the team more focused to get there and not just make the finals.

That’s what the players have been saying - ever since Madge has been here they’ve been saying not only do they want to make finals but they want to be top 4

I think top 8 is going to be a lot harder to achieve than people are saying. We have upgraded our team but so have most other teams and we are relying on our young forwards stepping up. Madge seems quietly confident which is a good thing but I wouldn’t be surprised if we finish ninth or tenth again.

I take the same approach as every year - expect the club to do well before season starts.

Recently we start the season well but fall away to just miss out. Then I think about 2012 when most people had us favourites ... what a disappointment that was.

I’m hoping that Maguire carries on with the small coaching improvements to the squad and we make the finals. Maguire invokes confidence in players and fans better than any coach we’ve had other than in the Sheens early years.

In my mid 60’s now but hoping for one or two more premiership wins before I kick it, lol.

Well to be fair we don't have any excuses, Madge has the coaching and training staff he wants, we've recruited well within our limitations and the boys are as fit as they're going to be, minus Liddle and Packer who are in rehab.

The real litmus test will be the arm wrestle games this year and whether we are good enough to close them out, that will be the difference between making and missing the 8 IMO.

Im still giving him 2021 in its entirety.

Another recruitment drive and post benji to see his goods.

Lets remember what he inherited and that I still believe that he's the right kind of coach for our club.

But what is the barest minimum base line acceptance table wise

For me 9th and above ...from where we were 2 weeks ago we were a bottom 4 side

If we finish 10th or worse as much as people like Madge we have to ask questions about where we are at

And we'd really need to look at Brooks as well ....
