Magpies NSW Cup no longer a feeder for Wests Tigers!

The Balmain Ryde-Eastwood team in the State Cup may as well be called Wests Tigers, but since Wests Magpies decided they wanted nothing to do with WT at State Cup level, then is is called Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Tigers. This is also despite the Magpies coach and WT contracted players from 2011 playing for them. WT aren't directly 'helping' Balmain for a State Cup team, they are simply adopting the Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Tigers name for their State Cup team. And since the people are already in place, it is being run administratively by Balmain Tigers, whose staff work out of WT offices at Concord as it is the most logical place to do so.
The argument that because Wests Magpies can fund their own side they should get the WT contracted players is irrelevant. If the shoe was on the other foot, Balmain Ryde-Eastwood would still have a team in the competition, with the Balmain Tigers club supported by the Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club, who have long been a supporter of the Balmain club. The Magpies have no help from WT because they have shown on countless occasions that they DON'T WANT IT.
**That is why Wests Magpies are no longer a feeder club for WT.**

This is ridiculous. Benjirific, how do you explain Balmain Ryde Eastwood getting the best NRL players, equipment, training facilities etc etc in the years between 2006 and 2011 then?

I'll ask the question again, but I am sure it will be ignored as per the other thread. Outside of the top 25 players wages, how much funding is Wests Tigers providing for the state cup team? Does Balmain-Ryde-Eastwood provide ANY funding?
The issue is as follows: if Wests Tigers are picking up the entire tab for the State Cup team, what happens if Wests Tigers make a loss during the season? Does the Wests Group (mainly Ashfield and Campbelltown) cover all the losses? Does Balmain (Leagues club) still have capacity to cover the losses as per the JV agreement?
I really don't care how many teams are linked to Wests Tigers, who gets the first grade players etc. I care about equity at the board level.

Lets hope we only need the feeder players for Representative games and not for a crippling injury toll like the past from either side

I'm personally getting annoyed at "Balmain" fans having shots at "Wests" fans and vice versa Has everyone forgotten we are all "Wests Tigers" supporters and this should be first and foremost in our minds
Do you realize you are arguing about competition that probably draws less than 25000 fans throughout the year excluding GF of course

Maybe because I saw my Brisbane club I supported all my life die I am slightly immune to all of this but that unfortunately is the reality of the situation and nothing (I don't think ) can change that

It comes back to the disharmony amongst the various facets of the Wests Group... Simply put. Some people don't like the way other people operate!! For too long this has affected Wests Tigers progression.... Well it appears WT have had enough, And about time!! From here on in it appears it's thier way or the Highway.... WSRLFC Chose the Highway and are now dealing with the ramifications of it.

This may come as a shock to most people... But the Magpie brand is Dead... NO!! Not in our hearts, Not in our minds... But as a marketable product in the greater NRL Community... It's dead!! It's the reason that both clubs found themselves in the position at the end of last century that they did!! WT's has built a brand... A STRONG BRAND, But it has taken a long time... For how long did we have to look up info of our new sponsor, Because we had never heard of them??? Now we have Hyundai, Meriton... Amongst others, SOMETHING IS DEFINATELY WORKING!!

If they don't want thier feeder team to be the Western Suburbs Magpies... Because the administration doesn't want to work with them, That is a more than reasonable and fair choice. If the Magpies continue to field a team to please the 150 spectators from week to week then that is also a reasonable and fair decision.
