So with that info would it be true to think that the ARLC has no intentions of having all clubs field 3 grades within the NRL framework in 2013 and beyond

Or is there more to come ??

I really hoped they would despite my allegiances to the Magpies

Was never formally discussed by ARLC. New TV deal does say that fox will broadcast a nsw cup game (prob same as existing coverage)

Only change that would most likely occur is toyota cup becomes over 20yo rather than under 20yo, feeder clubs are NRL aligned and norths, newtown, wests etc return to a revamped sydney based bundy cup comp

So presumably this will once again be independent of the WT? That is to say surplus WT players won't be used by the Magpies?

You would have to think so… Wests Tigers still might register their own team to play NSW Cup in 2013?!

I understood that was the case Watto and I thought the original letter in the OP indicated support for that. If so it will be interesting to know what led to this change (I'm guessing the opinion of the Magpies membership) and what WT take on all this is.

Final details have not been released. My assumption that it will be same as this year but with more time to put together a competitive team. The wests group (ashfield/campbelltown and magpies fc) are united and not infighting. Balmain FC is funded by Ryde-Eastwood and if they pull funding the Balmain wont be around in NSW cup. Unless the CEO and WT coach change their imposed rules then WT players will default to BRET. Magpies may get players who could not fit into this years BRET team. Like i said still awaiting a final press release from WSDRLFC. Thing can still change in the off season pending the politics.

My guess would be it was Balmains stubborn refusal to move Wests Tigers operations to Campbelltown :bash

Don't float that crap around here unless you have solid proof to back it up galahs. Fact is you've always wanted Wests to stand alone and now they will, so you got your wish even if the magpies do get pumped by 40 every week.

Believe what you want mate. Since 2006 we have been told Balmain agrees to having a single NSW Cup side called the Wests Tigers.

Now when push came to shove it ends up they want it, but only if its based at Concord. Surprise surprise.

Maybe Balmain will just merge with the Weststigers group and become the Weststigers premier league team and run the rest of there league as Balmain Jrl .This would be my option going forward and the Magpies can please themselves this gives the Weststigers there premier league team for there reserve grade players knocking on the door as fringe first graders and leaves West magpies as stand alone so I don' see a problem to be honest.

What joy could anyone possibly get out of seeing the Pies stand alone if next yr will be a repeat of this yr

It wont be a repeat of this year because unlike this year, we can start recruiting players now, not a month out before the comp starts. And if the Wests Group grows a set, they will demand all Magpie juniors come back to the Magpies. And whilst we're at it, we'll have Leo Epifania back too thanks!

Magpies for the Semi Finals in 2013!!!

Who cares I suppose there band of merry men,IMO there are bigger fish to fry and that is that the Weststigers gain there reserve grade team and move on to the great heights we are expecting and not languish in negativity.
