It's up to Wests and Balmain to make their brand trendy and fashionable .The deal sounds good for all party's ,the hard liners of each club have to work hard to cement there brand in the respective areas . In the MacArthur area there should be massive opportunities to build the brand with junior leagues under the Wests name and numbers are huge in the region . Clothing needs major modernising to appeal to the younger demographic….I was going though a draw of mine the other day and found an old Magpie hoody and thought giving it a wash and wearing it again, so I would be up for wearing some Magpie gear at times..., both entities gear should be sold at all Weststigers outlets I quite like the retro idea ! Well fellas all up to you if you don't want the Magpie name to disappear good luck.

This is wear Souths are the envy of most clubs… Thier merch / marketing is second to none!!
From the Plain white Rabbits stickers (That look quite cool)
To the SSFC Hoodies...
They have got it all over everyone!! Heck, Thier Hoodies are Black... Not Red, Green or White...
Totally unrelated colours and they sell them by the Gazillion!!
I'm not alone in thinking (And I've told them more than once) our Marketing dept. could use some real creativity at times. I have the Orange and Black hoody (That the team wear) I swear it's the best Jumper I've ever owned..
Nice and Warm and not too bulky!! But it's only fashionable enough to wear to certain places (Not that I'm a fashion Guru)
But I see Souths gear everywhere on anyone.... It looks the goods
................And every other club knows it!!
Surely, If they can come up with something..... WE CAN TOO!!!

I was told by the club that their hands are tied by the NRL when it comes to variations in merchandise, not sure whether that is the case given your points about souths batboy.

Newtown also made their club name and apparel a "brand" It became trendy when I was at Sydney Uni, people wearing the gear would often look at you with a puzzled expression if you started talking about the team.

Both JV partner clubs have an opportunity to try and do this and it could work quite well

That's true Smeg … Newtown have traded on the whole king St meets Tim Freedman sub culture trendiness of the suburb and the brand has become super hip.
I think Balmain may be able to attempt something along these lines, however Wests aren't actually a suburb or a town... Like Norths, they are sadly just a past tense footy club who make the occasional passer by look wistfully out toward the horizon and mutter sentimental platitudes about "the good old days" .

Seems to me Wests need a slightly unhinged billionaire to assume the role of sugar daddy ...
Clive Palmer seems crazy enough ... Rebuilding the Titanic etc ...

It's all pretty sad for both Wests and Balmain.

Again my fading memory,,Singo wanted Wests ..is that right…

I purchased an ' old style ' Wests jumper that the boys were doing on another site , they were trying hard, and I would have liked to attend Wests games ..but they but they were always on Saturday ..working..but I dont want Magpies to disappear. But it looks like before I finish up , the Maggies finish up.
