Looks a pretty strong side to me. Sounds like Laurie has a bit of work to do to get back into FG though.

Seemed to have a awesome lack of interest last week.

Very disappointing and definitely not a thing Tim Sheens wanted to see while watching the game. Might be with the Maggies for a while if his interest doesn't pick up soon.

Some real issues need addressing by Daine going on the performance put up last Saturday.

I was expecting to see Akeripa moved to the second row and Collis into the centres. Why is Collis named on a 5 man interchange for first grade??? He hasn't played for ages. He needs some game time in the NSW Cup.

I'd like to see Pritchard closer to the action but Davis and Akeripa are so dangerous out wide and draw defenders to them which opens up space for the likes of the Waters Bros, Dunley and Charlie.H. Pritchard needs to come in more off his wing than he did last week and try get involved a bit more. Like others have stated he is wasted on the wing….

Wests will need to tighten up the defence and show the some mongrel they did against the Tigers a few weeks ago... the marker defence and the defence up the middle will need to be on high alert to stop the progress of the big Bulls forwards and the dummy half running of there small men.

Wests will need to be patient in attack and make sure they have a high completion rate. Limiting errors in own half is a must!

.... it's also rumoured on the Magpies forum that a player will be added to the squad this week. I'm assuming it's Dean Collis.... this will mean another reshuffle to the 17.

The Bulls tire the last 25 of the game badly. If the Pies play to potential they should get up but the Bulls are a tough ask

Wish they tired in the last 25 the last time they met the Magpies! Scoreline would of remained under 40!

They only tire when you compete with them for ther first 60.

I think Holdsworths promotion has hurt their game as well and Barba is the perfect speed hump for Daine and Nu to charge over

It is in the same complex as the Olympic Veledrome mate. I can't remember the address though

BANKSTOWN CITY WELCOME BACK UTAI, HICKEY, BARBA & SULLIVAN
by Matthew O'Neill
The Bankstown City Bulls will welcome back Matt Utai, Jarrad Hickey, Ben Barba and Michael Sullivan for Saturday's NSW Cup clash against Western Suburbs at the Crest Stadium in Bass Hill (kick off 3:00pm).
>
The Bulls had the bye last weekend and the week before Terry Lamb's side was severely depleted with injuries, suspensions and State of Origin duties forcing Bulldogs NRL coach Kevin Moore to call up several players from Lamb's side, which also included Tim Winitana and Charlie Leaeno along with Utai, Hickey, Barba and Sullivan.
>
Utai was one of the Bulldogs best performers in the victory over the Titans last Friday night, Barba broke the Warriors hearts with the match winning try two weeks ago, Hickey was Man of the Match when the Bulldogs knocked off the Cowboys four weeks ago and Sullivan won the Players Player award in his only NRL appearance this season when he filled in for Michael Ennis.
>
This weekend Lamb will have 12 players in his squad of 17 that have played at least one NRL match in the last two seasons for the Bulldogs including interchange forward John Kite.
>
Bankstown City's last match was two weeks ago where they defeated the Dragons feeder side Shellharbour 34-6 despite Lamb being forced to field a very depleted line up and even using players in his 17 that weren't wanted by Bulldogs NYC coach Andrew Patmore.
>
The clash will be played at The Crest Stadium in Bass Hill, which is located next to Steve Folkes Reserve and the Dunc Gray Velodrome and not all that far from Bass Hill Plaza and the Twin Willows Hotel.
>
Last time the two sides met at Campbelltown Stadium Bankstown City won 72-16 with Danny Williams scoring four tries, Hickey plunging over for a first half hat-trick and Brent Crisp scoring 32 points from two tries and 12 goals from as many attempts.
>
Western Suburbs are in equal second position on 21 points along with Central Coast Storm with Bankstown City holding top position on 24 points.

Not a bad State Cup team that one…...Fire UP Wests....smash the scumdog millionaires................

This game is also listed as the game of the round.

Last week was scheduled for Leichhardt to be the game but they forgot to change it in the programming department after we were announced the 9 game with all 3 grades playing on a Sunday. The League TV crew would have bee denied access

Bryson Goodwin returns from a two match suspension for the Bulldogs’ Round 20 clash with Parramatta which means former New Zealand International Matt Utai returns to the centres for the Bulls. Tim Sheens has sent boom frontrower Daine Laurie down to improve on his match fitness with the Magpies and Laurie will certainly have his work cut out for him with the Bulls pack, which contains NRL regulars Lee Te Maari, Jarrad Hickey and John Kite.

Magpies coach Leo Epifania will be looking for another solid performance from centres Nu Akeripa and Josh Davis who will match up against Matt Utai and Tim Winitana. Containing the rampant Bulls backline has been the challenge for most of the sides in the NSW Cup this year but Newtown, then bottom of the table when they produced a major upset, might have shown the other clubs a few chinks in the Bulls’ armour.

Match fitness for Daine hey…I'll go with that for now, but I thought Sheens wanted to avoid using Daine this season against mobile packs such as the Cowboys, and Raiders (this week they've got a light pack at least). Hopefully the big fella gets stuck into the Bulls. I think we'll need him against Manly as they boast a huge forward pack and they steamrolled the Knights easily tonight.

It's a strong Bulldogs team. I agree, go WESTS!

Magpies lost 24-20.

They were down 18-4 at halftime.

Maggies made enough breaks to win 5 games let alone this one.

Ben Barba charge down 7 minutes from end sunk the pies.

Aww crap. Who stood out for the Magpies?

How did Laurie, Akeripa, Pritchard, Collis and Davis go?
