Tbh, Madge is probably more distraught that he’s ruined his reputation by taking the job. This place is a coaches graveyard after all. The Bermuda Triangle. Coaches come here and disappear. How ironic the only coach who had us on the right track over the last decade is the one most despised.

Maguire ruined his own reputation by surrounding himself with yes men with very little relevance to the younger generational player … he still would be coaching next season if he surrounded himself with proven professional assistants .. he put himself in the graveyard !

What does it matter who recruited who?
Madge isn't a recruitment officer he's a coach.
He could coach the Turbo brothers into being the Leilua brothers.

In fact Madge had the choice between coaching Manly or us.
He chose us.
So please no more talk of Madge identifying talent. He chose our roster over Manly's.
Manly must thank their god every time they see us play.

Maguire absolutely deluded: “I know exactly where the team is going and the organisation knows where the team is going”

So according to his ‘logic’ it was his plan for the side to leak 30 points a game this season. To let in seven tries to the wooden spooners, have no line breaks against the worst defensive side in the competition and clearly must’ve known the Tigers NRL team would go backwards under his coaching every year he has been here.

Was that his pitch in the job interview back in 2018? “I’m the man to take over Cleary. I know you guys were 9th this year with the 6th best defensive record but if you want to improve the club long term, then I’m the man to lead this club to 9th, 11th & 13th placed finishes. But that’s not all…I’ll take that middle of the road 6th best defensive record in 2018 and deliver the second worst defence in the comp by 2021.”

“Ohhh lots of points per game? That sounds exciting! You’re hired!!” Pascoe.

It’s a shame Maguire never told the members or fans that the club would need to get worse every year under his watch because if he did, we too would’ve tempered our expectations and understood years ago exactly where the team was going under Maguire. Backwards.

It’s always a good sign when you hear the head of any football department complaining about missing/injured players - Bellamy, robinson even Cleary whinge never about players missing. Ever. Don’t think the Rorters have complained once this year about the size of their injury toll (only the man at in which they were injured). I’m any event, successful leaders celebrate it as opportunity. The next man up will do his job and do it well. But not at the Tigers. Jimmy Tamou and Luke Garner and James Roberts and all these other winners that have led/steered the team to loss after loss this season will suddenly become winners after their time on the sidelines?

This supposed ‘leader’ is making excuse after excuse and keeps taking about sticking to a path. The path to losing? The path to averaging 40+ missed tackles per game? He blamed Ivan for the salary cap mess, he blames missing senior players and covid shutdown affecting game time of younger players not playing week in week out…but no other coach is whinging or trotting out this crap. Is covid only affecting the tigers. Clearly the game has moved beyond Maguire and his ‘systems’. Once he had the answers. Now he is an assistant coach at best.

Madge is absolutely deluded or a compulsive liar. Either way not all good for a first grade coach.

100%

That and trying to fix and befriend players who just don't have what it takes.

I said earlier in the season he will go down with the ship supporting players like Brooks and here we are.

He deserves everything he is copping. It's his own doing and why he should be sacked.

When could we expect to know what's happeniing with the Club review and Mage's future? Going on the form of this club's administration I would say it would be most likely well into next season.

Some were still rating him a better coach than Cleary, up until about halfway through this year 😆

Not me 🤷‍♂️

One thing I think exemplifies Madges coaching is that James Roberts has never got a clean ball or intentionally put into space all season??? I think it says it all really,

DEAD RIGHT!!
I've been saying it for some time.... We never have the Best of the Next Coaches.
They always surround themselves with Nuffies who won't take their job...

Snoopy Collins - Please.... "We were mates at Canberra in 1990, So he gets a job."

On the same note - We still have Ronnie Palmer running around... He's done!! - Surely.
He's been around that long and been at so many clubs, He'd be at a better one that ours if he had anything at all to offer....

We should have thrown everything at John Morris - Or Mat Head like coach...Younger guys who know the game.

Have to laugh at people suggesting replacements......

Flanagan just gets me laughing all day - keep it up guys. Next you'll be suggesting Josh Hannay......oh please, stop it, my sides are hurting.......

Fair enough don't see them as being good myself but who would you 'realistically' be aiming for (available and willing to come)?

If the choice was mine, I'd keep him and see how the partnership with Sheens works out.

There are some laughable suggestions on here.

At the moment and with what I know about people, Cameron Ciraldo is the only person I would 'consider'. Is he available? I know he is very close to a core group at Penrith and I'm not sure he would have the same impact with a new club and new personalities. You have to remember, he has personally mentored those kids from a very early age. To be honest, I doubt he would leave and I know he is happy as it stands.

You only ever change players or coaches for someone better. For those that keep peddling Macguire is a hopeless coach and has never been any good.... Good luck to you, but Im glad you dont run the WT.

I still do.

They've both been in the coaching game about as long as each other. One has won two premierships on different sides of the world, coached NZ and beaten Australia. The other has won nothing.

A paralysed toddler with a severe speech impediment would do well coaching the current Panthers squad, a squad which Cleary inherited rather than built.

The end of season review won’t paint a good light on Madge but the fact it is being conducted by Pascoe and Hartigan is not ok. Those 2 have just as much to do with the current mess as Madge - if not more. Whoever signs off on the deals such as Mbye, Reynolds, Packer, BJ, Roberts etc has to be accountable to. We talk about changing the culture but when you bring in players like that you get the culture we have. The review needs to be done by an independent and be from top to bottom.

I don't understand the anger directed at Pascoe or Hartigan. Pascoe has our club in the black which in turn allowed more resources for the football dept. Hartigan has recruited some of the best young talent we have had at the club. Our U21s were the best. Our junior recruitment for next year looks to be outstanding.

The club is a failure. Many people are responsible. It's too simple an argument to just change the coach and think everything gets fixed. Therefore different people have different ideas about where the size of the blame falls.

You are vocally anti-Madge. There are some that will argue it's more about the club than the coach. You are not anti-Pascoe, but some will argue that Pascoe has been CEO for 6-7 years of failure and deserves to be looked at. You are not anti-Hartigan, but some will argue Hartigan may be significantly responsible for lack of big-name signings and a general unwillingness to bring out the chequebook.

Correct me if I’m wrong but James Roberts has been 18th man for at least 2 or 3 of the last 4 weeks and our coach is saying his absence is part of what cost us the match??? Who selects the team?

There may be a very good reason why Jet is 18th man and not actually playing. Coach might be talking about completely healthy Jet versus lockdown housebound Jet. Or he may have a niggling injury where they don't think they could have fielded him for 80 mins.

His shoulders appear to be heavily strapped some weeks.

We have no leaders other than Doueihi . Sadly Brooks never steps up when his team needs him. The problems are obviously deeper than the coach & players & the review MUST be independent & not by the two who must also come under intense scrutiny. If not, nothing will change .

It is a collective failure IMO. Truth of the matter is it predates Madge, Pascoe and Hartigan.

If they sack another coach we are done…. Players need accountability. Brooks has to go, we are flogging a dead horse with him. Tbh happy for nofo to go as well, been here too long with no success.
