This!
I couldn’t care less about the tournament, it’s format, the refereeing stuff ups (here we go again), the result.
It is no indication of future form.
BUT Madge wants our club to change culture. To be heavyweights. To win.
At the end of the day we lost when a win was going to see us progress. And that’s how it always is. And that’s a problem.

While I'm getting tired of reading the consistent negativity here, and I can't claim to know what Maguires goals were in attending this tournament, I have to agree with your last point. To change WT culture, they need to make a statement consistently. They need to win regardless.
I was musing over WT performance yesterday and while I cant be bothered to work out exactly where we finished in the comp, 9th overall wouldn't surprise me.

Winning a few games doesn’t necessarily make a winning culture, however, a winning culture will translate to constant wins. I wouldn’t get too hung up on wins, it’s not the goal here, it’s the result of achieving many other goals.

Well as I said I don't claim to know what Maguires goals were going in to this comp and he may well have just told the team to throw the ball around and have fun. From an outsider's perspective (me), I think having a solid crack at winning the comp would have sent positive messages within the team and to the fans.

Hopefully this inspires Maguire to have a better look at lower grade options. Perhaps also an opportunity to move certain backs on to ESL.
What it did - was expose the fact that a proper playmaker was not selected in our team.
