I dont believe Benji found out online.

He may have had it confirmed on line but I bet the writing was on the wall. He had a little tantrum that didn't do him any favors.

Back on thread, I am wrapped tht the club has stuck solid with Maguire for the next few seasons.

The media consensus has him as close to the Bellamy mould as there is out there and preciously what our players need to harden up.

We will see the fruits in 2022 onwards

Here I thought it was a coaches job to get the best out of players he has at his disposal...

Not if they are "not players bootlaces" or they don't want to put in the effort to train or give their best on the field.

You get rid of them, he has done that to the players he can, shopped others to no avail, but they will go.

Then we will see if he can get the best out of ALL players, not just just a few.

Oh...free pass..nice Russ..

Bennett still available.
If he can win with qld, imagine what he could do with our numpties🤔

*Awaiting thumbs down

If we don't make the 8 next year Madge has to go.
That simple, no excuses

Something Wayne Bennett said he learned from another great coach. You don't let a player go unless you have someone better to replace them!

On the Coaching Market, Maguire is probably the best coach we can get. We could have traded him for Anthony Griffin, who is a very similar coach. As for other standouts, Laurie Daily would be the only other coach that I rate. At club level he is untested.

I don't care, make the 8 or gone would be my communication with Madge for next year, that simple, no excuses.

Do we actually know if Madge has put pen to paper yet?
If was announced but heard nothing of being finalized.
We pre-season commencing would be good to know?

Steve Noyce hired Tim Sheens on a handshake. Both accepted each other’s word. It took over 12 months for them to put together a contract.

Hey PJ.Did you read the bagging the Brittish side gave Bennet.Basically cannot coach and never be considerd again;.

And how did it go when they asked Sheensie to leave?

No need to upgrade him yet .....he hasn't earned it just yet

If it was a player the offer would've been pulled by now

I don’t care if we get the spoon under madge for the next 2 years, he needs to stay.

We have been changing coaches constantly for the past 10 years and it has done us no favours at all.

Give madge a chance even if he is no good.

That’s a bit extreme. Let me ask you if he should be extended after 2 spoons. Reality might affect your opinion

Presumably we sacked Sheens because we were running 9th. This is where we set the bar so we then sacked the following coaches because we were running 9th. Making decisions following a couple of spoons is not something we’ve had to deal with? IDK? It would require a complete change of direction?

Sheens was at our club far to long and he promoted the "boys club" mentality which has only just been removed.Madge is trying to establish a winning culture and he needs till end 2023 imho
