Yes sorry about that, my first post in a long while and I make a bungle of it… I realised my error when I checked the article again :brick:

Mahe Fonua's farewell message as explosive winger leaves Hull FC
The Black and Whites outside-back has signed for Wests Tigers in the NRL for next year.

Mahe Fonua admits he couldn’t have asked for much more from his Hull FC career as he bids to say farewell to the city he’s enjoyed success in these last two years.

The 24-year-old arrived ahead of the 2016 Super League season as a rough diamond from Melbourne Storm.

The potential was there but he was still relatively unknown and was certainly far from polished.

Fast-forward two seasons and Fonua has become one of the dominant forces in Northern Hemisphere rugby league, talents he wants to take back to the NRL.

Whilst Fonua is looking to the future now with a World Cup with Tonga on the horizon and is focused on nailing down a spot for Wests Tigers in 2018, he is also grateful for the journey he’s had at the Black and Whites.

Two Challenge Cup wins and two Super League Dream Team selections confirm it has been a perfect match for both Fonua and FC.

“I’ve been part of a very fortunate Hull FC team. I know we fell short in the semi-final and that’s happened in both years but if someone would have said I would play in two semis, win the Challenge Cup twice and get named in the Dream Team twice, I would have jumped at that,” Fonua told the Mail.

“I’m really pleased with how things have gone over here and there are a lot of people to thank. My wife has put up with me and actually made the decision to come over with me. Obviously Lee Radford and coaching staff have been excellent as well. They have allowed me to showcase my talent and I cannot thank them enough.”

Fonua is currently preparing to leave his Hull home ahead of a trip back Down Under for the World Cup, with the outside back planning to meet up with the Tongan squad within the next week or so. But even in these last few days of life in Hull he has found himself being congratulated on a job well done by fans in the street. Fonua, though, is as thankful back for the support he has been afforded during his time in East Yorkshire.

“The Old Faithful are great. It’s going to be hard to see that same sort of atmosphere in Australia. They are a different breed of fans,” Fonua added.

“They stuck with us through some tough times over these two years as well with some big defeats at home but they are proper passionate.

“I’m going to miss the fans and it’s been a unique experience walking around the city in the last couple of days with people coming up to me and shaking my hand and thanking me for the two years, but at the same time I thank them for their support.

“These two years would have been a whole lot different if we didn’t get the support we’ve had. I’m hoping to link up with the Tongan team in the next week or so. We’ve got a few days yet to try and clean the house up.”

Indeed, things could get a bit heated alright. It will be good to see Fonua and abd few other go around.

If he wasn't so rubbish under the high ball, he would have been in the NRL squad by now.

Well he played his best footy for the Storm in the centres so given all the missing players I'm not sure why he isn't trialled at left centre in NSW cup at least

Well Malakai is one of the players that are injured this week. Depending on the extent of his injury, Mahe might get a shot on the left wing.

Regardless of everything, the above stats are seriously impressive. Confident we'll see him in First Grade this year at some point.

I look forward to seeing Mahe in First grade at some stage but the thought of him & Kev defending next to each other terrifies me. Bombs away!

Me too… but I can't help but think how good it would be to have him carrying the ball up when we are struggling at the start of our sets.
