Mahe Fonua

If that were the case, we'd have the slowest wing combination in the history of slow wing combinations. Only room for one in the team with the other winger tall, strong and with genuine pace.

Where is he going to be played. He looks like a right winger ala Nofo. Will he play right centre or will he be fine on the left side.

Our outside backs should be good next year even if they are slow. We should be running over the top of teams.

Please no. Do not have him defending inside Nofa. It will be a recurring nightmare.

So where does he play. It's only highlights but to me he looks like a walk up first grade player.

ISP would be good.

Fonua played mostly for the Storm on the left and quite a bit at Centre so it's not foreign to him..

Seriously, first day back in Australia, he's seeing a barber.

It'll be interesting to see were he plays though:
2\. Noffa
3\. Marsters
4\. Suli
5\. Fonua?
or
2\. Noffa
3\. Suli
4\. Fonua
5\. DWZ?

I am interested in seeing how Taane Milne goes under Cleary. He is rocks and diamonds now but I hope he improves to be a regular first grader.

Fonua is a winger defence is suspect in the centres.
I think we line up 1\. Tui 2\. Nofa 3\. Suli 4\. Milne 5\. Fonua 6\. Reynolds 7\. Brooks 8\. Packer 9\. Liddle 10 Mats 11\. McQueen 12\. Aloai 13\. ET 14\. Sue 15\. Twal 16 Eiso 17\. Benji

Marsters will be there somewhere.

You guys realise Milne has also played on the wing. In ISP and in first grade too. I wouldn't be surprised if Cleary would consider Milne as a starter on the wing as our centre positions are filled for Suli and Marsters. Not only that but Milne is strong as is pretty fast.

Forgot Marsters. We have some depth for next year Lawrence, Grant, Marsters/Eiso, MCK, Rochow, MWZ, Kev,Thompson, Mcilwrick and 2 more signings might be playing Reserve grade. That's a change in past years.
Our juniors are weak though only Mikalale looks like a prospect.

I would put Masters ahead of Milne.

We'll definitely have depth when you add marsters and potentially two more recruits. Nice to have that for a change.

Mate, way too quick to write him off to the wing.

Ivan's main goal is to improve our D. we did bloody well the last 6 weeks.

With a full pre season under his belt, I reckon Fonua can go next level.

I think we are all guessing and think we know something.

I feel when we get well into the preseason a lot of this conjecture of who is playing where etc. will work itself out. Some of the players we are talking about will play themselves out of the team and conversely some others will play themselves in. Cleary is a very astute coach and I am sure this is in very capable hands.

I will say on the last couple of games they have played MWZ has played better than DWZ and has played alot less NRL games than his brother.

You know what else I liked about that shot he put on?

He checked to see if the opposing player was ok. A touch of class there.

Might have the aggression we need but he doesn't contravene the "No DH" Policy.

Will be a fantastic purchase IMHO.

Just watching the Wakefield game. He's going to be a real asset to help start our sets on a good note. Very powerful a real handful. Took a good leaping catch in the air to score a try as well. And just as I write this here comes off the wing in defence and allows his winger to score a try. However it was probably touch-and-go whether he had any other option.
