My wife doesn't follow footy so no competition in my family, and everyone else who cares in the extended family are Tigers fans, even those who married into the family.

Started indoctrinating my kids early - about how good Tigers are, why Tigers are the best team etc. They are too young to get it but given time should work out nicely. Will be interesting to see if I can get my daughter to like footy as much as the blokes in the family do.

Don't count on it. I had the same idea but hard to answer when they start asking, "Well why do they always lose?" or they are able to see a ladder

Watching the soccer on Saturday, my daughter asks if the Tigers are playing. I said no, it's soccer and it's Australia and France. She said "Australia, that's us!" I said yeah. She says "Will Australia win?" I say probably not. She says "then I want to be the other team please".

Tell me about it …
The kids got more jerseys than Rebel

At least some of the $112 goes to the club !

My mum was a Balmain fan (now Weststiger ), dad a Canterbury fan, they never pushed my sister or I to support either team, my sister chose Balmain whilst I chose Wests.
With our 2 kids who are 17 and nearly 20 now, I let them choose their own team no pressure, just like we were raised, the eldest is a rooster supporter(yuk), and the youngest a Weststiger supporter.

Wont happen in this house. When he was little my son went for the Roosters until I browbeat him out of it. But he's not really that interested in NRL and won't sit through a game with me, (except at the ground). He's into Judo almost exclusively. Mt daughter likes the idea of being a WT supporter and absolutely gave it to the cowboys fans at the trial game in Cairns. But when I'm watching a game at home, she'll poke her head in the door, check the score, say oh, and go away.

All tigers supporters they had no choice. It's nonnegotiable.

They will be cut from the will and banished if they even think of supporting another team.

ive got 3 jerseys
1 is signed by players
but my latest 1 (2018 Away jersey) cost me 180 for memory (or more) 😱pen_mouth: :crazy 😕 :unamused: ….its worth it tho

Two sons - 19 and 16\. Both mad keen Tigers supporters. We are all members and my wife. But can’t get them to games as much now - girlfriends, casual work, mates etc. Sometimes I sit on my own with 3 vacant seats which is s bit sad but they come more often than not and I treasure the times we are together.

_So…... moving away from the current doom and gloom..._
I'd love to know other fans thoughts on whether or not you insist on making your kids Tigers fans (i.e. over other teams).

Personally, I accept that at some point my kids may struggle with religion, sexuality, political agenda, whatever...but I'm dead serious that they **have** to support all of my teams without question.

Thoughts?

Absolutely. Geo clearly failed as a father by raising a Roosters supporter. Mine have been wearing Tigers gear from 0000 up!

I did.. 😢

But my daughter is staunch Wests Tigers so 1 out of 2 ain't bad…

Sorry Geo , but Meatloaf said 2/3 ain't bad

You need to start some more family planning 😱pen_mouth:

We thought we'd lost EB to the Cowboys but the start of the season brought him back

My baby Giraffe loves the WT's and loved Keefy

My Mrs loves it when we are winning …..

My boy unfortunately is not all that interested in League, he's been to a few games…........none of which we won, which probably hasn't helped.

Only yesterday I apolised to my 15 y.o son for steering him in the direction of the WT.

My 9 year old is now telling me he's supporting the cows. Little does he realise that they're headed for severe drought.

I don't force them to support anyone, but it's hard to change once you have a jersey. That's my only hope for him - he's got two.

I live in hope for both him and our club.

The first 12 games I took my kids to we only won once. They still stayed strong and still enjoyed going.

This year we have won all three games we have been to. I only take them to home games where the Timmy Tiger is there and the crowd cheers for us.

I like that all the extended family supports the same team. Even though my five year old keeps mentioning the Eels at the moment (he is a bit cold sleeping outside at the moment).

Took my son out to a game when he was about 3..thirty years on we are still going. I often ask him why did he blindly follow me with his support for the Tigers…he said because there is only one team
