Once they release the team list on Tuesday they can't change it except in special circumstances. It's rep round next week so a perfect time to announce it. If he has signed I'd look for him to be named in the ISP side the week after. I don't think Cleary would put him straight into the NRL team.

Don't know why he wouldn't be allowed to play nsw cup this week if we do have him. Having squad naming procedures for the pros in first grade is one thing, but limiting which players can play in reserve grade or the u20s can pick just seems pointless.

Wests Tigers have today confirmed the signing of outside back Malakai Watene-Zelezniak.
Watene-Zelezniak will join Wests Tigers from the Penrith Panthers, effective immediately.
The 25 year old will join the club for the remainder of 2017 and the 2018 NRL seasons.
Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary welcomed Watene-Zelezniak to the club.
“I look forward to having Malakai as a part of our squad moving forward,” said Cleary. “Malakai offers great versatility and further strengthen the depth in our outside backs.”
Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe echoed Cleary’s sentiments.
“This is a great opportunity to Malakai to further his NRL career at a new club,” said Pascoe. “He’s a great young man who I’ve had the pleasure of working with before and I’m sure he’ll fit right in here at Wests Tigers.”
Capable of playing wing, centre and fullback, Watene-Zelezniak made his NRL debut for the Penrith Panthers in Round 6 this season against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Another solid signing by Cleary/Pascoe/Egan.We desperately need some depth players in the back line and Zelezniac is perfect for that.
I rekon we might raid a few more Panthers players in the coming weeks/months.Something is brewing at the foot of the mountains and it will be in our favour.

Yeh the size is the key. Very solid for an outside back. He is not genuinely fast, from the highlights, but fast enough.
Adds some important depth to our three quarter line. He also means that players will need to perform as there is now some competition for spots in our backline.
