Mark Flanagan

I'm really looking forward to seeing how he goes.
The guy is huge, especially for someone so young.
Sure, he may not be great and end up being a nuffy, but I recon he might turn into a real surprise packet in the backrow.

Huge? Not sure about that. He did look bigger than expected though. I was very impressed with him against Roosters. He hit the line well and looked to offload. Will be interesting to see if he can be consistant. Time will tell.

He's not in Heighington's class…

I think he will be good ...Hit's hard in D....

Solid++

Bit harsh to already say he's not in Rhino's class Geo.. isn't it a bit too early to be making comparisons like that? He's only played 10 first grade games.

He certainly has a big frame. There was confusion over his size, word floated around the forum that he was a John Morris size player when we first signed him, obviously not many were familiar with him. He's pretty tall, taller than Payne, Galea, etc.

He'll go good. But I don't expect him to be at the tigers next year, once all the super league clubs realise he's going good they'll entice him home.

I think he will go well maybe take a few rounds to see any major impact though, but he is an unknown quantity so time will tell. If he has a good year prob will get shipped back to the mother country though :frowning:

There was a photo of him flying around somewhere and he was deadset all bulk - very big.
Then again, I suppose most forwards would be like that and I guess i'm just comparing him to people like Fulton

I think the kid is only 22, so I can understand why he might have only just been starting to break into a 1st grade Wigan side. Does anyone know if there was an incumbent lock over in Wigan that could have kept him out of the side?

Untapped potential as far as I'm concerned. Sheens might have made a very astute buy here.

The league will stand to benefit from these British imports. Having Ellis and Burgess in the league can only create a bit of healthy compition for the very few Brits in the league. They aren't over hear for the money - there here to prove they can match it with the best in the toughest league in the world. I see no reason why he won't excel and provide good utility value off the bench. He as nothing to lose and everything to prove - I can see Ellis having an input in his development.

Your kidding arnt you Cap? The British peso is not worth much more than wall paper these days. And didn't he follow a girl out here? I'd say if he shapes up he will be with us a while.

As to his size; I think he is only 91kg but very tall.

Looking forward to seeing how he goes. He has some mongrel in him and had a good dig against the Roosters. Hits hard in defence and hopefully he'll pull off a shot or two on Manly. I think he'll develop well as the season goes.

Dunno what currency you're talking about, but the pound is worth way more than the Aus dollar…

when we signed him i remember reading he only weighed about 85kgs or so, despite being a primarily a backrower

when i saw him at the roosters trial i was genuinely shocked at his size. he was quiet tall and looked to have really filled out. is definitely bigger then fulton and taller then heighno.

had good footwork and seemed to have some ball skills aswell. i dont think he'll be a world beater but won't be out of place in first grade

also wasnt he wigans goal kicker?

haven't seen him yet.

looking forward to seeing him.
sounds more promising than when we signed him.
for some reason my impression was that he was undersized .
