Teddy is young and still naïve in many respects. Teddy would have been told to make this statement by his manager Ayoub who has controlled this signing circus all along for the past four months. In fact he is still in control after the signing by providing anti-Wests tigers lies to the media.

Agreed. I just listened to the media conference and hearing him say it wasn't for the money made me squirm. If he thinks playing in a spine of Campese, McCrone and Buttriss is better than Brooks, Farah and Austin/Moses then the kid has rocks in his head.

Just a thought … when Mr T was released a few weeks back, nearly every player in the club jumped onto social media and wished him well and told of their disappointment that he wouldn't be remaining a Tiger.

With the Tedesco announcement yesterday, the only player to wish him well via social media that I can recall is Blake Austin. There has been zero from everyone else, which I find a little weird considering Mr T didn't even play a game of First Grade, yet Teddy has been with the club since he was a kid, grew up with a lot of the boys, and it seems like they have brushed him.

Might be a non-issue, but its possible that his team-mates aren't too impressed with Teddy's decision.

Iam with you on this one, I believe he left because he has fallen out with a player or players or a official. He was always leaving and they where just waiting to see what milford done , funny if milford had stayed would Tedy now be a bronco.
There is more to this story than money, and the truth will come out in time believe me.

And the other thing i find interesting as far as the team mate thing is concerned….and I am willing to be corrected on this....but i thought i noticed throughout this year whilst he was injured.....that whenever the TV cameras scanned the benches, there were always injured players to be seen, but i don't believe i ever saw JT sitting with the team.....anyone else notice this or am i just seeing conspiracies everywhere???

If he had a family and a mortgage I could understand it. But being a 21 year old kid living at home it all seems pretty sad to me how much of a driver money was. Maybe there's a new pair of shoes coming out he wants to buy

Your advocacy for Tedesco's decision is a concession that signing him on a huge contract is inherently risky. So any regrets will be tempered by the knowledge that we made a decision not to put all our eggs in that basket. Canberra had to do it because they have precious other options. We're not in that position.

Let's remember Mayer was CEO whilst of Manly whilst Brett Stewart was on the roster. Brett Stewart remained a class player but was never the same explosive player after suffering a number of severe injuries.

Yes it was always going to be a battle to retain Tedesco as he wasn't as high on our priority list as he was Canberra's

But time will tell whether we got it right keeping the right players or not

Last time this came to a head we all know the results Not that I'm bagging the Tigers very few would of predicted where Fifita would reach

But this comes to the next question

It basically must have come down to Moses or Tedesco late last season

So definitely, yes, the players would go on to twitter and repeat their thoughts for the general public to hear… But none of them have said a word about Tedesco.

That's fine, we all understand that money talks. But rugby league is tribal, that is it's purpose, all the bleeding hearts trying to defend Tedesco are wasting their time. We have a right to be frustrated and vent our frustrations, the game is for fans first; it only exists because of fans. Playing rugby league as a profession is a privilege, not a right!

And to the reports of an apparent $70K gap between our offer and Canberra's - it's not as simple as that. Anyone who has ever been to an auction will tell you, you start with your lowest offer first and commit yourself to a limit. $1 over the limit, $70K over the limit, $250K over the limit, they are still all over the limit! Of course there was a financial difference between the two offers, that is what the manager wants, he wants disparate offers to leverage against the bidders.

And Happy, I respect your opinions, you've contributed here for a long time, but your constant lobbying and innuendo about Tedesco is doing my head in. We get it, you have a connection with the player, you support him and want to defend him. But please stop trying to assert your inside information, cryptically sprinkled throughout these forums, as the gospel on the topic.

I have seen him at a number of games in the tunnel (sharks game) or sitting behind the bench. He was even on camera during the Parra and Roosters games.

If 400K is not enough for a guy that has played 20 odd games in 3 years then I think there is an element of greed their supercoach. I don't blame him for taking the Raiders offer one bit, he would know further injuries could really diminish his value. However If one club is desperate enough to spend 700K on a guy that has played 20 games there is no way he should match it.

Maybe where Mayer fell down was not getting him on board late last year or in the pre season. Im sure he tried, if he didn't well then that is a failure on his post. None of us know the inner workings of the cap and how bungled our one is. However I think to put it all on Mayer is harsh. Some would say 400K for a player that played 20 odd games in 3 years was a good deal.
