@cnx_tigers said:Good work stirring it up NOW Sheens.
Motive = he wants to unsettle the Kiwi captain on the verge of a big game.
End result = he screws things up for the Tigers.
This is why a CLUB coach should NOT BE A NATIONAL COACH.
@TheSunTanSuperman said:@Snake said:Why would Benji leave! all talk …..If a well credentialed coach was appointed and he is happy why would he.
Please spare us IF THE COACH LEAVES I LEAVE ..maybe Coach 0 and 4 might after all these years finally steer this team to a near Premiership in 2010.I'm thinking someone is under the pump.
Finally steer this team to a near premiership? He steered it to a premiership already, you goose.
As far as Sheens coming out and saying what he did. Good on him. These inept halfwits from a certain "faction" have wanted to make decisions which would've put this club in a hell of a lot worse spot than we are at the moment, they deserve to have some heat on them.
Wanting to punt Marshall? My god that lot have no f'n clue.
@smeghead said:Considering it was a board member who leaked all of the information (including entire emails that were forwarded from the than CEO) to the Telegraph would it be any real suprise that this same board member is stirring the pot in the off season again by leaking this information???
@innsaneink said:This will not be good for the club, will cause division withing the two JV sides and can cause division amongst the team.
If Marshall wants to follow a coach that cannot make the semis….then let him go.
Are they now a package deal?
That would restrict BOTH their options.
Dumb statements by all concerned.
The factions have a right to their opinions...they kept it among themselves, until someone shot off his big mouth.
@Muffstar said:So when does Sheens contract finish ? Might be a nice way of saying resign me or you will not only lose me but Marshall as well

A SHOCKED Benji Marshall says had he known some senior figures at Wests Tigers wanted rid of him, **he might have made a different decision when he turned down Japanese rugby to stay in league.**
>
He was stunned by comments this week from Tigers and Australia coach Tim Sheens that some club officials were advocating Marshall be pushed out of the club while he was deliberating between a new two-year NRL deal or a lucrative rugby contract.
>
Marshall told New Zealand's Sunday Star-Times: ''No, I didn't [know] and if I did, things could've been a lot different … I've just re-signed for two years with the club, so I am going to have to make it work and we are going to have to sit down and talk about what went on so they can let me know.
>
''I have put my loyalty into the club and you don't like that stuff to come out after you sign. I would rather have known about it before I signed.
>
''I am not that happy about it, put it that way.''
>
Marshall, who didn't know about the story until he was alerted to it by his manager Martin Tauber on the eve of this morning's Test between Australia and the Kiwis in London, said he wouldn't ''say anything rash or make any harsh comments'' until after he had met Sheens to find out who had said what.
>
Marshall also revealed he has a get-out clause in his contract allowing him to quit the club should Sheens be removed, so strong is the bond between player and coach. ''He's my No.1 supporter, he always has been,'' Marshall said of the man who will be doing his best to stop the Kiwi superstar in his role as Australian coach at the Four Nations.
>
''I've got the utmost respect for him. I've even got a clause in my contract that says if he's not the coach at the Tigers that I don't have to be there. That's just the respect that I have for Tim.
>
Marshall revealed that Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney played an influential role in persuading him to stay and said the prospect of going on his first Kiwis tour, after missing the 2005, 2006 and 2007 trips through injury, was a crucial factor.
>
''[Kearney] was good; he wanted me to stay in the game, and he helped me weigh up the pros and cons of the decision,'' Marshall said.
>
''I didn't know I was going to be made captain, and that would've been even more of a factor, but he didn't want to put that on me to make me stay and he didn't need to because playing for your country is a big enough reason on its own.
>
''When you play over [in Europe], you rarely get the opportunity to play for New Zealand, and if I changed to play rugby, I wouldn't get to play for my country again unless I went home to play, and that was one of the things I considered.
>
''If I had played 30-odd Tests, it might have been a different story but I've only played a limited amount of Tests.''
Might is a bit different to would…....Careful Benji the Club showed you a lot of Loyalty as well bro.....
@king sirro said:Wiedler says today that Sheens' is trying to get a one year extension so he finishes his time at the Tigers when many stars come off contract at the end of 2011\. Its claimed that this is so the new coach has a great opportunity to make a fresh start. **Yeh right, its more likely that Sheens is trying to time everything perfectly for 2012 when he takes over from John Lang at Souths and takes Benji (and maybe some others) with him.**
If this is true from Weidler, and its a big "if", we would want to win the comp next year as i think 2011 will be a very disrupted season. I hope this isnt whats happening.
