He's really letting us down with his gk duties. Would definitely recommend changing goal kicking duties to Mbye. Mbye used to kick great for the dogs… Marsters just useless. Misses in front.... Very poor

Thoughts??

I was saying this all last year as well and got shouted down, he misses easy conversions all to often

10m either side of the goal posts is almost no chance. The ball goes way to high and shapes away at end. He must hit them alright at training though because he keeps the job every week.

The problem is we have nobody better at the club to kick goals, M'bye is no better. We need to sign an ok player who can kick 80% the problem is who and where is he

It was a massive momentum killer. 22-12 with 15 to go, would have made a massive difference psychologically as opposed to 22-8\. It’s all hearsay, but we could have run them down.

I said it in a post last week, goal kicking will bite us. Okay it did not today, but when teams go up in 6 and we go up in four…you are going to have more bad days than good

The league has been riddled with average players that are above average goal kickers that take there teams to glory .. No kicker =No Finals .

Ross Conlon was a classic example. Very average player who kicked Beautifully for Canterbury and Balmain

He started at wests, played 2 years before the dogs came with a big cheque book

Since Hodgson left the club a decade ago I think the only kicker we have had who hits them over 75% would be Rankin and he was a liability in every other aspect of the game. Goalkicking has let us down greatly over the past few years, we seldom win because our kickers are better but it costs us point every single season.

Exactly. I mentioned a few weeks ago this is the bloke we should sign. Only signed for a year by dogs. Points are a premium in this competition and we need someone to fullfill that role. He also adds size , and with further development under a good coach like Madge will offer more to our squad.

A lot of the great goal kickers were pretty average players. El Masri, Halligan, Jason Taylor & Jarrod Crocker come to mind, but they were so valuable to their teams for their kicking alone.

By all accounts, Rhys Martin is averaging better than those guys at present. God, I'd be happy to have a sharp shooter like him in our team because we have floundered in this area for far too long!

I can't believe that, with all the coaching staff we've had over the past 5 or so years, no one has addressed this problem properly. Do they not practice? I think it's telling that Moses is kicking at around 84% now he is with Parramatta, yet he was as inconsistent as Marsters when he was here. Moses has improved , Marsters hasn't. Why aren't we doing something about this?
