A good friend of mine played 1st grade for Randwick for ten years and ended up with a career kicking record over 90%. He would kick left or right foot depending on the side he was kicking from. Anyway I said to him a few years ago why didn’t he approach a NRL side about being a kicking coach. He said you can’t coach kicking it’s in your DNA but you can practice, but all the practice in the world will not improve your stats by about 5%

Sorry but that's rubbish. it may have been the case for your friend but many, many players go from average kickers to the very best by practicing their ass off and getting coaching.

People forget the likes of El Masri, Johns, Halligan were all kicking in the 65-75% bracket until they worked and worked on it and got to 85-90%

So did I.
I think we all did!

Definitely going to cheer every single time he kicks one over.

I reckon we all should at games from now on.

I really felt for him last night, so much media & social media attention about his poor kicking. To his credit he dug deep, blocked it all, even the Bronco home crowd, focussed and achieved perfect results. I was so proud of him. Well done.
I think Madge did the right thing to keep him kicking, even though I admit it terrified me.
Confidence back, onwards and upwards !

Yes I see he came out and admitted he read my kicking tips in this thread

Vote 1 at the next election

If he was playing needled up with an ankle injury why in the name of sweet meats would you have him goal kicking?

Don't have much issue with Maguire trying it out, but unlike us, he and his assistants knew of Esan's problem, so should have taken the duties off him and certainly so after the second miss. Likely WT would be 4/5 had he done so, plus the bonus of Penrith being 1/5.
