Mason

Humphries did not sign Mason because WT members and fans told him directly that they did not want him…simple

Mason has had maybe 2 or 3 good games….so what...I do like his aggression though and in hindsight he may of been a reasonable signing.

Is this listening to the fans thing going to be an ongoing thing from now on? if so, maybe Humpty should create an account on here and discuss all potential recruits with us in future

Mason has had more than 2 or 3 good games.
It's no coincidence the Knights have come good once he found his place in the team.
It's Humphries job to NOT listen to fans and/or sponsors when it comes to recruitment.
He should be concentrating on building a successful team - and that would have been made easier if we had signed Mason.
This is not hindsight - plenty of people had the foresight to see his value but were shouted down by a few goosepluckers.
(No offence meant to 'goose' )

This is all hindsight & all you get out of hindsight is a sore neck looking over your shoulder, we have to battle on with what we have.

I'm glad he didn't come, and I don't think he is a world beater either. May have went better ON FIELD than what we have, but the whole dynamics of a team and club etc are more than just on field.

Mason's form as been good, and apparently his attitude up there is good. Good on him and good on Newcastle for giving him a crack.
I didn't think he was worth the risk, so difficult for me to be critical of those that did not sign him.

He's been just about their best forward since he signed, much more than 2 or 3 games.

I'd love to know who the fans were that Humphries listened to.

Cashys on more than he's worth, you can safely bet on that.

In your exhaulted opinion. He could be on a meat tray per game played, for all you know.

Dont care what theyre on….but your description of mason is so way off it aint funny....I, back then wanted him here, based on his form at NQ, he found no trouble there, he finds no trouble anywhere, except in peoples imaginations

You mean the Willie Mason in 2002 alleged to have done a taxi runner?

Or the Willie Mason in 2003 who tested positive to amphetamine?

Or the Willie Mason 2004 fined for unprofessional behaviour and breaking curfew for NSW?

Or the Willie Mason in 2007 forced to apologise to 2GB for abusing one of their reporters?

Or the Willie Mason in 2007 who got in a nightclub fight with Richie Williams?

Or the Willie Mason 2007 who had a dust up with the Doggies CEO and was released from his contract?

Or the Willie Mason charged with urinating in public in 2008 AND 2009?

Or the Willie Mason released 2010 from the final year of his Roosters contract?

Or the Willie Mason released 2012 by Toulon, labelled 'the biggest flop in Toulon's history'.

That same guy?

Yeh that scoundrel, the Knights are regretting their decision…I bet.

You need to get a life, do you keep tabs on all players that arent angels?
Maybe rugby league isnt your cuppa tea if a player in an argument supporting his team mate gets you so hot & botherd....it was a verbal row, not fight.
Why the need to lie?

Who's to say Sheens was the right coach to bring out the best in big Willie? He's obviously thrived under Bennett and the environment in Newcastle for a reason.

Could he have done it for the Tigers? Maybe but with our structures and getting big minutes out of Woods and Galloway, probably not

If we are being serious, Mason is playing for the team that is the second biggest disappointment in the competition only behind us. This is based on expectations at the start of the year.

He doesn't seem to have made too much difference to them…............

So far he has done good for Newcastle. He's been clean and has IMO taken NC further than they would be without him

Sheens set to pick him for Aust.

Mason had a very good season, however, in my pecking order he still would not make NSW origin team, as we have players like Woods, Galloway, Gibbs, Tamou, Grant, Sims, Merrin, Kite etc.
If we add Qld's like Thaidey, Hannet etc. I cannot see him be considered for rep jersey in front of any player mentioned above.
