Matt Ballin signs for two years - official

Well everyone wanted the 'boys club' at the tigers done away with. Now the last piece is just about done and you're not happy.

There is a reason JT wanted Robbie out and now we know he is not kidding. He doesn't want Robbie running the team out on the field - all those rumours are true - he wants our halves being more dominant.

f'ck me, we have one of the best hookers that ever lived. Robbie, but we have to let him go, he''s not good enough for the team that ran close to last.
i have no disrectect for anyone here, but i love footy, and i always loved the tigers,
right now, i feel no passion for them.
who here reading this agreers with me?

I don't, but I guess I'm a bit older than you are. I've been through stuff like this before and I always support the club over player stuff.

Despite what Daley says, he is not going to pick the NSW hooker from state cup irrespective of how well he is going because he quite simply will not be up to meeting the intensity of origin after playing against fringe first graders and reserve graders. He will also not finish his career in first grade with us and it's a very real possibility that he will not get another contract after this.

He will need to find a home elsewhere if he wants to continue his first grade and origin career.

It would be a shame if Farah, through stubbornness and his love for the club, ends his future representative chances. Surely he can see the writing on the wall.

Maybe he is a depth signing. Don't forget that players can get long term injuries at any point. :blah
Look at this scenario. Mania, and Dene get hurt and are out for a few weeks over the Origin period.
More than likely Robbie will be there, who then will play hooker ? :crazy
Wests-tigers didn't do too well last year in the origin period.
Matt Ballin has a lot of experience and may be the difference needed.

Same with me. I always have a soft spot for the good old guys when they leave (Gibbs, Rhino, even Benji these days), but I support the club. Stupid as it may be, I'll never change.

Hopefully Matt Ballin overcomes this injury and is right to go when the season starts 😛ray: .

Ballin is a decent player, but if he is confirmed this spells curtains for Farah.

Farah is a fool if he thinks he's holding the cards.

The club were going to shaft him and pay most of his salary to do so, why does he think that they will not play him the year in state cup? Cherrington is the view to the future so he will be in the 17, and if Ballin comes here he isn't coming to play in state cup when he could do that at the club he's played his whole career at.

It has been reported that he does not want to move to an out of Sydney club so that limits his chances no end.

Is it April Fools day?
Just what we need- we sign an over 30's hooker whose just had a career threatening injury for 2 years!
On the flip side it was a good idea to let Tapou go (because he didn't buy in to Taylor's 'plan') :bash

I cant believe that Matt Balin would sign with the Tigers under these circumstances. It is the worst possible way that any player could come to a club and considering the backlash from fans who see this signing as ensuring that Farahs career at the Tigers is as good as over - a lousy environment to come to. For all those saying we dont want anyone who dosnt want to play here - well if you think Balin wants to play here, you are kidding yourself. Smells of desperation,

NEWS FLASH… Farahs career is finished at the Tigers ,problem is someone does not realise it ... Balin playing NRL next season for the Tigers all good Cheringtons final apprentiship year.

12 weeks ago it was reported that Manly were cutting 14 players, including Luke Burgess, Feleti Mateo, Willie Mason, Josh Starling and Justin Horo. Why on earth did we take Balin when we could have taken any of these players to strengthen our player position weakness?

.

our clubs stupidity is beyond belief if Farah doesnt go and i cant see where he is meant to go we are paying 3 hookers and possibly risk losing Cherrington in the bargain. I was one that was hoping Farah would stay call me loyal but now if Ballin signs i hope he goes because its just not fair on all involved, the players and fans/members.

All good, is it? :sunglasses: Hmm, glad u think so.

So basically we traded Farah and Tapau for Ballin. Surely management are working to bring down the club. Ok so what happens if Farah decides he'll earn a million the easy way and play reserve grade. And plays brilliantly while first grade stumbles to defeat after defeat. I can only think Farah is close to accepting another offer and the club isn't ruining our club even more to play who blinks first. But let's assume Farah goes. We've then lost him and MT to get Ballin. I mean how can they even try to defend all this?
