Matt Scott.

Matt Scott is coming off contract in 12 months should we make a play at him? He really has a go and i think he would be just what we need.

What you guys think?

Would love to have him, but, Big Red is off contract next year also, and Woodsy is a must have starting prop. If we let Galloway go, then I'd be all for having a serious crack at Scott. But if we resign Keith (who could flourish under a new coach) then it's not worth signing Scott. One or the other. The reason for this is the price for both verse minutes played. If Scott was here (or Galloway) then I think the club would be better off having a "moderate" priced prop eg. Bell, coming off the bench that doesn't cost the club a quarter of the cap and will just do some dirty work in a quick spell.

I wish the club would however invest or scout a nutcase prop in the mould of Warea-Hargreaves, Learoyd-Lars, Ashton Sims, Tim Grant even T-Rex. All of them are under contract I understand, but I would love to see some genuine impact off the bench. A bloke who the opposing team goes "oh crap, he's on!!" Hopefully Fotuiaka, Passi could bring some of this or even Naiyavaro or Semanufagai from NSW Cup.

Potter should give Naiyavaro a crack a first grade, he is big and fast, I personally have not seen him play but have read some stuff about him and if he takes on the line he would be great. I would like to see a prop rotation with Keithy, Woods and Naiyajaro but Keithy gets injured way to much so I would release him and sign another prop like Pritchard or Tollman.

Pritchard is a second rower

Dunno if you meant Tariq Sims instead of Ashton? IMO Ashton is just a wanky goose who thinks that having a mohawk or an Ivan Milat moustache makes him tough-he is all pi$$ and wind

Nah mate I meant Ashton. Tariq is a far better player. But Ashton is a nut case. He's tough mate, saw him clean up 3 blokes on his own at a pub in Townsville after one of them glassed him a few years back.

Okey doke then, I stand corrected  Sounds like that would have been good to see (cowards who glass people deserve a thorough beating).

T-Rex is in the first yr of a 4 yr contract with the Dogs. Don't like our chances

You want to a player who you have never seen play before, play first grade :crazy

The Tigers have Galloway placed as the next priority re-signing after Robbie.

Really? I don't care…

I'd have him in a heartbeat…

Sadly, I highly doubt Matt is interested in moving to Sydney... He is truly a quietly spoken country boy, who just loves playing football, and takes every chance he gets to get out to visit his family in Longreach.

With all the greed that is flying around in relation to Player Salaries, the Cowboys are very lucky to have Matt!

People on here said we shouldn't have gone for Thurston or Folau because we should save our money for a prop like Scott. Now people say we shouldn't go for Scott either… that it's an impossible dream...What Utter Garbage!

If you will it is no dream!

Anyway, I guess it's now official - we don't need a halfback. Don't need an outside back. Don't need a prop.

Scott would require a huge contract to get him down to Sydney. That money could be better spent retaining our existing players and recruiting mid level props.

You can't fill a team with marquee players, you become top heavy.

willow, do you know that as fact or are you just assuming? If true I find that quite strange. Personally keithy would be a lot further down and behind several other players in the squad.
