Matthew Johns

No, not the leak to Matthew Johns. That was supposedly a "player agent". I mean the leak in general.

If the "information" came from an agent then it's someone like Sam Ayoub or Martin Tauber stirring the pot. Wouldn't worry about it. Johns is an idiot for passing it on.

Helped our playmakers out in 2005 and did a great job.

He's a bit of a TV [This word has been automatically removed] now… we're been easy pickings for him over the last 3 seasons given too much player power and unrest amongst the playing ranks.

Didnt see what Potter said. However, I have to say I wasnt convinced by the press conference today that there arent problems between the playing group and Potter.

Potter made some comment that there is no issue with the players and Farah reaction led me to believe he didnt agree. Could be wrong and perhaps reading too much into it but it seems to me from such press conferences that Faf and Potter dont have a close relationship.

They indeed may not have a close relationship but it really is irrelevant. Fact is Farah's game has improved under Potter and that's all that matters. They don't need to be best friends, just professionals.

No one is saying they have to. The question is whether Potter has the support of the players. Farah's reactions in pressers suggests not.

Question, if the players dont rate Potter, should he go?

If Potter did not have the support of the players, they sure as hell picked a funny way to show it yesterday.

No. The players should not be able to pick and choose the coach.

Interesting view. I have always believed that experienced footy players can tell if someone is a decent coach. They would certainly be in a better position to know than us fans. I would have thought.

I'm sure they know more than us, of course, but you have to take into account their motives. Look at Penrith. The players wanted Steve Georgallis as coach…

A lot of this is very harsh on Matty Johns. He has given the Tigers tonnes of good press in the past.

You guys are just sensitive to the negative. Let's all be a little objective, considering the rubbish that has come out of club over the past three seasons we are fortunate that the press haven't labeled us a basket case.

He's a reporter, that SMS was news worthy, you all prove it by this thread.

Bird and Gallen are grubs for NSW. That said they do a good job for us. Matty Johns sharing the SMS is grubby, but he is doing a good job for his employer. I don't think it's over the line. The agent is way over the line.

Beat me to it Hybrid. ST is probably right that a professional player is probably more qualified to judge whom is a quality coach or not, but I'd wager they'll want someone who will let them have it more their way rather than the other way around.

Look at Melbourne, you never hear or see whispers of player revolt, because it is Bellamy's dressing room. If you believe the reports, Matt Lodge is in our ranks because he wasn't prepared to do it Bellamy's way.

It depends upon what the complaint is. If it is because he is not picking the particular player, then yes we should give it little credence. However, the concerns raised about Potter, assuming they are true, which is admittedly a big assumption, are about communication skills and education. If senior players think he is lacking in that area then I am prepared to accept there is some truth to it.

I remember Farah getting fired up last year or in 2012 when he accused him and benji not getting along..

He said he heard it in "rugby league circles"…

Vague source

Not bad , parents must be real proud

have you no skeletons friend, very harsh on the johns boys ,they have made mistakes but I think we all have a little humility goes a long way

Sorry but I dont like Matt Johns, But that has nothing to do with it.

I have heard there have been communication dramas at concord for a long time but have no idea what players are involved so I believe this could be true.

If it is true then Potter needs to go IMO.

It was true. Crazy if you think Farah and Marshall were on the same page.

I just wonder if this is a set up between Farah and Johns

Wayne Bennett used to get a journalist in Brisbane (the late great Bob Bax ) to bag his side or particular players to get a reaction

Is Robbie doing the same ??

Robbie and Potter get all this stuff said in the media , knowing full well it is complete BS and fires the boys up when they are needing a extra big kick in the ass to perform

Never liked him or his meat head brother. Both a pair of bogans with the same idiotic facial expressions with their mouths open. Just cos you're a great player doesn't mean you make a broadcaster. Something Rugby League has never learned and makes them look amateurish in comparison to other codes who employ ex-players who actually possess verbiage. Neither Johns brother has it, nor do guys like Fittler and Tallis. And whats with Hindmarsh and Fletcher, a couple of wannabe comedians. I watched about a minute of that match they called, and i wondered if it was Fletcher's intentions to be awkward, and that was how he tried to be funny, or it just comes across naturally.

But yeah, went off on a tangent there. Back to M Johns, he seems from what little i see of him, to want to be hard hitting, and ask ''the hard questions'', like the time a couple yrs ago when he ambushed Farah. Guys a tool. i'm sorry that the Auckland jaunt didn't end his career.

Brilliant summation. And, they're from Cessnock. It's not the arse end of the world but you can smell it from there. Why would anyone expect anything different?
