Maybe we should sell up to Koukash

SORRY FOR THE CAPS , BUT SOME PEOPLE DON'T GET IT

THE NRL OWNS THE WESTS TIGERS NAME

IT CAN'T BE CHANGED FOR ANY REASON BARRING RELOCATION WHICH WESTS WON"T WANT

IF ANYONE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THIS PLEASE PM ME

I JUST DON"T KNOW HOW HARD THIS IS TO UNDERSTAND :brick:

Another option is that the NRL can withhold the licence in 2016….read the fine print

The point is if Balmain sell their share to Wests it basically will be the end of Balmain, but if they sell to a third party they will be able to maybe strike a deal and keep Balmain afloat.

To me it's a no brainer, it's not like the have any other option

That's true - but Koukash wants to own an NRL club - whats being reported is that he bails Balmain out financially so they can remain a 50% shareholder in the JV. I can't see whats in it for him other than getting to pick 2 board members - he would have no control whatsoever over WT. As far as I know he can't buy Balmain's share of the licence until it is offered and refused by the Wests Group and even then if he did get the licence Balmain would no longer be a part of WT.

I find it so sad that balmain will do whatever it takes to NOT sell to the wests group. Says a lot about their mentality towards the "JV".

Please just die with some respect and let wests move towards the future. Imagine another 2 plus years if this? Torture!

I also find it sad that people make divisive statements out of their backsides without knowing or understanding the facts.

Balmain would not be intending to sell their Shareholding in the JV to Koukash or anybody else.

They would be looking at Koukash taking ownership of Balmain and privatising the club, thus keeping the Balmain Tigers alive, and staying on as a now cashed-up Shareholder of the Wests Tigers. Also, Balmain don't need any permission from Wests to privatise the club, only from the NRL.

Instead, what you are alluding to is Balmain having their share of the JV taken over by Wests Group, thus ceasing Balmain's future involvement with the NRL. A completely different matter with completely different outcomes.

Gees, how dare they want to keep their club alive! Selfish bastards!

Get the difference ??

Surprise surprise….

Their club is alive, playing in the NRL.

Wests tigers.

Let it go.

All that Balmain's public death is doing is loading up more negative media attention to a basket case of a club. Seriously, have a sausage sizzle and chocolate wheel to raise money to pay debts is embarrassing. To me it seems balmain wants to survive at any costs, even at the detriment of wests.

I was impartial to Balmain's plight at the beginning, even rooting for them to get back on track but after the recent childish games they have played by running to the NRL as opposed to coming under the big warm wing of the pie I'm now rooting for them to go away...quick as possible preferably...that's the only way wests tigers can get back on track.

@Abraham,it seems you have a hidden agenda by getting rid of Balmain and Wests having full ownership of the Wests Tigers, you can cheer and carry on the old black and white forever garbage, while flying the Wests Tigers banner..

Where do you think the Tigers logo comes from.
Answer..the other side of the JV..get it now.

You shouldn't kick em when their down, when they bounce back it could be embarrassing, and I hope they do,there still is fight in the old Tigers…... 😛ray:

It's not a Balmain Tigers Logo never has been…It's WESTS TIGERS...people really need to let it go...it's been 15 years for god sake...

If Koukash is smart, he'll avoid this place like the plague. Too much political red tape, and factions to overcome. Better off for him to go to a club that isn't divided.

@Geo. Ok NOT the logo, how about TIGERS as in Balmain Tigers the other half of the JV. Also I have let go I'm 100 percent behind WESTS TIGERS,however if the union of both didn't take place where would both sides be now, petty squabbling will get us nowhere, but some seem to want to be the better half of the JV and kill the other half off…
The Two great foundation clubs that got together under difficult circumstances created this fantastic club Wests Tigers, let's get rid of Wests and Balmain tug of war and stick together as Wests Tigers.....I have had a gut full of them against us scenarios on a fair few of the forums..as Geo said LET IT GO.........please

Too True..Honour the past BUT embrace the FUTURE …that is WESTS TIGERS...

So true, but a lot of people who use this board will not be happy till their is no future to embrace and only fading memories of the past to hang onto. Hate to end up like the bears and Newtown

Why on earth would Koukash want to own Balmain - he wants a controlling interest of an NRL Club not 2 votes on a 7 man board.

That would be all well and good, except for the fact that I am from the 'balmain' side of the JV originally and hope like hell they can get back on their feet.

Your little rant fell apart pretty quickly didn't it.

Helps if you read what people write, instead of what you think they wrote.

Quite embarrassing if you ask me.

Comprehension skills aren't your forte, are they?

Yes the club is alive through the wests tigers, and we all want to keep it that way. A strong Balmain = a strong Wests Tigers.

Wests taking over Balmain's share negates all that.

I really don't care what your thoughts are about Balmain, I just find it funny that you went on a gigantic rant about an issue that you pulled out of your arse, instead of trying to understand what the Balmain club is actually trying to do.

And by the looks of the above post, you still don't get it.

@Abraham,I may have read it wrong and do apologise, people do make mistakes,Tigerbalm is at fault …

I mean…it's almost funny how you keep spurting the same old tired lines in reply these type of threads. I get it, I read your dribble. I just don't agree so by your logic I don't understand. Ok.

On the plus side, you have produced a new one " a strong balmain = a strong wests tigers"...I like it!
It's total garbage but sounds nice. Get it printed on shirts for the fundraiser, I'll by 2! One for me and one for wests...you know, cause if..sorry, when balmain fold, wests are gone!

Just reported on 2ue by Vossy - Koukash writing a letter to Wests Tigers to say not interested - "too complicated"

Thank god.

He would kill a club he has no history with. No sentiment to Wests or Balmian. As much as we are Wests tigers he would not care bout the brand.
