Mayer on 2KY

*$10 tix not sustainable - will run out of money very quickly, need to be smart about it.

*NRL played a big part in marketing this game

*Overall a good result financially for club & stadium.

* Meeting with Ayoub again tomorrow re Teddy, hopeful of keeping him

* Club struggles re: TPAs….

great interview, very candid with what he said and very transparent (when its appropriate).

He said they ''saturated'' the south west

I saw a pic of the flyers that went into letterboxes, glossy colour wouldnt have been cheap, maybe these were from the NRL

Thanks woodrow on WTSBABT

I thought the TPA'S were probably a problem, you only have to look at the blank advertising positions on the fence around both our suburban grounds to see we are having problems getting business partners.

Its a very hard these days attracting sponsorship, even when you are giving them national exposure, but TPA deals are even harder as they get less exposure for their dollar,

Anyway fingers crossed Mayer can find a fairy godmother

I dont understand why you would have $10 tix and a big marketing push for one game if you cant do it for the whole season? Whats the point? Dont we need a strategy for the whole season?

The very same reason that companies have "sales". They are usually one-offs to encourage patronage.

It also makes people want to come back if theres a good atmosphere. Personally that was the first time ive been to campbelltown (only been to leichardt maybe 3 or 4 times) and i loved it. definitely never driving again though, i burned so much fuel…jesus.

Maybe you need a tune up? You will find your motor will run a bit better now with the Italian tune up to Campbelltown.

Give me a break, the club is criticised for not making an effort to fix an issue its struggled with and tried something new and its still not enough for some. Mayer used the spray at the last crowd to get a reaction from fans and most likely the NRL and it worked but we still had to drop the price.
Its a start.

Regardless the bloke has made a massive improvement on what we used to get from CEO of the past.

Mayer deserves a bit of praise for his work. Normally that game would be lucky to get 10,000\. At least he is trying to get the bums on seats and last night it payed off. Lets hope the next match V Raiders can draw a decent crowd.

Hopefully there is some kind or promotion on the tickets, e.g. two for one or some form of cheaper tickets. You only have to see crowd figure from last night to see that it actually makes a difference.

And I agree 100% that Mayer is a massive improvement on past CEO'S. He actually seems to have a plan for the future of the club, does not seem to be making silly decisions that cost us for years and years, both finically and on the field.

He seems confident without being cocky. He's ready to admit mistakes when he makes one and he will probably make a few more mistakes later.

The board has done 2 wonderful things last couple of years. Signing potter and THIS GUY.

..because the NRL wants a Team based there full time eventually,at this stage its going to be us unless they try to emulate the Wanderers, this is just one small step..

Same game last year, earlier in the season (not as cold though last night wether was choice) all players available drew 11,500
Kudos to the club, Mayer and all involved

If the NRL want a team based in Sydney's SW they should support us financially like they do Melbourne…
