Wasn't the two players that were badly injured recently both from St Helens ??

If you haven't seen it yet , 1 player tears his hammy badly (off the bone I thought they said ) as he was about to score and throws a ball over his head to another player he kicks the ball on the half volley and breaks his collarbone as cannons into a steel post behind the dead ball area

St Helens have announced the signing of Australian full-back Shannon McDonnell to the end of the 2016 season.
The 27-year-old former Hull FC and Hull KR player, who had a brief spell with Saints towards the end of last season, re-joins them from Wests Tigers where he has spent this season.
The signing comes 24 hours after New Zealand utility player Lance Hohaia announced his retirement with immediate effect due to "recurrent post match concussion-type symptoms" following his knock-out in October's Grand Final.
Two of Hohaia's eight appearances this season were made at full-back in the absence of Jonny Lomax, who is out for the season with a knee injury, and Paul Wellens, who is currently sidelined with a hip problem.
"It's clear with Jonny Lomax out for the season and Paul Wellens currently sidelined, that we need cover at full-back as well as in the backs," Saints chief executive Mike Rush said.
"Shannon can cover a number of positions and we'd like to thank Phil Moss at Wests Tigers and his agent Steve Gillis for making it happen.
"He did a great job last season and we look forward to welcoming him to St Helens once again."
McDonnell, who started his career at the Tigers and also played in the NRL for Newcastle, joined Saints last summer but made just three appearances before fracturing his jaw and sat out the Grand Final.
The Ireland international has a British passport and, therefore, will not count on St Helens' overseas quota.

Why would he come out here, saying he wanted to earn another shot at the nrl, only to quit 8 weeks into the season and head back to the UK?

Unless we needed to clear salary cap space for a HUGE Nsw cup signing..!

Simple–money St Helens will pay him tons more than a second tier contract with us

And he seen how good Teddy is and knew he wasn't going to get a shot at NRL while Teddy is here.

Irrespective of what some people think of Shannon as a player,I wish him all the best in the UK comp,they obviously have a very good opinion of him and good luck to him….football is a short career,you have to make the most of it...
