McKinnon - a must to sign !

Like others Iam in two minds, Wades been really good for us but with cap space precious you have to be careful where you direct your dollars. Iam also a Meaney fan and if given the chance i think he could excell or at least be very solid at the back.

i believe the last 2 weeks have proved that Lawrence has the makings of being a sensation at fullback. With him playing 5/8 he's showed glimpses of what he can do with the ball, and i think as a fullback, he'd be perfect for us. Playing Lawrence as a running fullback with an ability to use the ball when needed is exactly what we need. I cant believe Sheens has never tried him there.

I have been saying it since 2006\. I'm not sure how he is under the high ball though.

I always thought 2011 would be the year Mullaney gets into the firstgrade side. Wests Tigers will have to decide how much they want to keep Mullaney. If we don't offer him a firstgrade contract for next year then another NRL club might.

He needs to do a Laclan Coote and bulk up significantly first. Physically he's not up to FG yet, nor is he up to it defensively.

I am hoping he bulks up a bit for next year. Lazarus too.

I dont think you'l see Lazarus bulk up, he had two years off and put on no size at all. Unfortunately, he just has one of those builds that wont gain anything, just like Hodgo.

Agreed… Those calling for Mullaney to play NRL are blinded by his attacking brilliance.

Would be good to see him bulk up though and see how he goes...

If Mullaney wants to go to the Dogs good luck to him,he is a mile of first grade , he will be run all over.

McKinnon will play well, he has no other option but do that. He is 29 and has no contract for next year. Sheens was clever to pick him up when he did because he has to play for a contract so we will see the best out of him this year.

In saying that, I wouldn't resign him next year. Like previous posts, I agree that Meaney must be just about ready for a crack at FG, and I dare say the sweetener offered that lured him here from Manly was that he would play FG. If I were Sheens I'd keep a close eye on Sean for the rest of the year, and then decide whether to offer him a FG contract or retain McKinnon.

If Mullaney can't play U20's next year, then no point signing McKinnon. Mullaney is ready for FG already but Sheensy knows what he needs to do. However, I agree he is not physically ready, but neither were Hodgo or Benji, he will grow in FG. Give him a chance!!

He isn't ready unfortunately. Defensively he would be the biggest liability in the team.
