[SportsNewsFirst.com](http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/articles/2010/11/30/mckinnon-eyes-injury-free-season/) published the following article on their website earlier this week in which they interviewed Wests Tigers player Wade McKinnon.

Wests Tigers fullback Wade McKinnon finished his first year at the Tigers with a preliminary final loss.

After joining the black and orange following a mid-season switch from the New Zealand Warriors, he spent the majority of his year in and out of the squad with a hamstring injury.

Now three weeks into pre-season, McKinnon is putting his six games in 2010 behind him with all eyes on the new year.

“The injury was sweet as the season finished, so I'll come back to pre-season sweet,” McKinnon told sportsnewsfirst.com.au.

“(I) did some strengthening work during the off season and everything’s fine.

“It was frustrating because hamstrings are frustrating - you think they're better then they're not - and with each week I’m getting a bit closer, but that’s last year now.”

With the new year comes the return of fullback/halfback Tim Moltzen, but the added pressure is something the 29-year-old thrives on.

“There’s always pressure even when Moltz (Moltzen) was out, Beauy (Beau Ryan) was playing there, Fitzy (Daniel Fitzhenry), Browny (Mitch Brown) was playing but I think it’s good for the club to have that,” said the custodian.

At the Tigers until the end of the 2012 season, he joined the Tigers in May after struggling to break first grade behind Lance Hohaia.

McKinnon said the motivating factor behind the switch of clubs was a simple yet appealing one.

“It’s just their style of play, they're a team that play with the ball and that’s the way I like to play coming off passes and that so it was definitely a good opportunity for me,” he said.

“I’m enjoying it, everyone’s good… it’s a great place to be.”

The pre-season plan for the 2009 City Origin fullback is to work on all aspects of his game including his catching and defence, along with making a trip to the tattoo parlour where he will finish the new ink on his left arm.

Hmm Moltzen, Mckinnon, Brown, Mullaney. I dont recall us ever having such great depth at the back or in the halves

Our back end is fairly thick this year and last… One more Big Bopper up the front with Fifita, Keefy, Dwyer, Payto and the hopeful return of JC... One more would kick ass!!

What about Gibbs - Ben Murdoch-Masilla - Aaron Woods - Junior Roqica - Junior Moors????

We have plenty of depth at prop (although James Graham would not go astray)!
