It was never going to end well buying a 30 year old forward. Thanks for at least trying Chris but JT was a fool bringing you here at your age

He wouldn’t have been a bad pick up had he not broken his neck after we signed him

Before we signed him:astonished:

Was after, while he was still at the Titans.

Chris came to the Wests Tigers in 2018....He sustained a neck injury either while at Souths or Titans, and had neck surgery in 2017.
Good Luck to the guy, I hope he does well in ESL:+1:

I happened across the "Chris McQueens signs" thread from 2017 and, wow, there's some comments in there that didn't age well. A bit like McQueen! I won't post the link to spare some blushes but if you can be bothered I'm sure you can track down the regular poster who thought the signings of Matt Ballin, Chris McQueen and Jamal Idris were going to usher in a new era for the Tigers.

Admittedly I was pretty happy to have him on board when the news came around. He was pretty good in his days at Souths and obviously his injury after his signing really set him back. But again, he was another purchase that just seemed to sour like milk on us. Shades of Jason Cayless.

Contract up at the end of the year anyway? Only 4 games left. Hardly worth an announcement..

Oh could you imagine the media smashing again if we didn't thank him for the huge 10 games he played.

10 games
Wow
Getting paid $400,000 a season
That works out to $120,000 per actual game played
That's equivalent to $3,120,000 a season for 26 games

Now that's value for money
But wait there is more
Packer and Reynolds
I dont even want to do the figures on those two

I disagree i never wanted him here as i dont see the point of signing 30+ year old players. His broken neck was very unfortunate but i didnt see the point of signing him even before that.I do wish him well for the future

Of course he was overpaid for what he brought to the club, similar to a handful of other players who are skewing our salary cap.

But McQueen is the one player in that bunch who I have no hard feelings towards for his performances. It takes a lot of courage to have come back at all after his neck surgery. I would be terrified of every single tackle if it was me. Good luck for England Chris, hopefully you can find some form over there and win some silverware.

McQueen had every right to negotiate the deal he got from the club. If we paid too much, that's entirely on us. Hope he goes well in his next club and that he stays healthy.

He was playing ok when we signed him before he broke his neck. After that he was not the same.

He hasn’t shafted us, haven’t spoken bad of us. No winging publicly about playing reggies and seemed a positive kind of guy. That, plus his dislike for Matterson, makes him ok for me.

Good luck to him.

What a weak individual this bloke has been .. offered absolutely nothing other than putting his hand out each week for the pay cheques.... had hopes but just another plodder ..

Why is he weak ? Plugging away in reggies , doing his job , being a team player . We made the bad decision about whether he was value for money . 1 year removed from being a mai stay in origin . We thought he’d bounce back . Turned out to be a really bad judgement call . Zero to do with him .
You say crap like this all the time. It’s just rubbish and shows you’re the weak individual.

I wouldn’t call him a weak individual ..
You would’ve done the exact same !

He was brought to the club to play NRL not languish in the Reggie’s ... for gods sake look at the plodders this year or last that he could not even put pressure on to get a start ... yes WEAK ! fact not fiction ...
