I will be in Melbourne fo the Weekend,Does anyone Know of a venue I can watch the game live in or close to the CBD?

Ring the Charles Dickens Tavern on Collins Street. They might be showing it.
Watch Game 1 of State of Origin 2006 in that pub full of queenslanders. Best night of watching a State of Origin game ever!

Even better, ring NRLHeadquaters tomorrow and ask our Game's Leader will you be able to watch the fine product that is Rugby League live in Victoria, in Melbourne, a city that is actually home to an NRL Franchise.
 
There used to be a Sports Bar in Crown Casino - at the entrance to the cinema. It has large screens around the seated area and plays NRL Games. I used to love in Melbourne in 2000 and it was the only way I was able to watch games live.

I think it is still there. If not there is also a sports bar within Crown which should have it on. And besides, if we lose you can go and play Blackjack!

Melbourne Casino is pretty good. Much better than Brisbane Casino. When I go to Melbourne I go to the casino alot. It's the one upstairs? When I watch sport there I normally go to this bar upstairs. I think it's called the Steakout? I think it's 5 big screens all next to each other and the middle screen is the one with the sound. I was watching the Rugby League live on the middle one but once the AFL game started they moved the AFL to the middle screen and moved the Rugby League to one of the screens next to it. So they then had the sound for the AFL game. :angry:
 
There's a group called [League of Our Own](http://www.leagueofourown.net/) that shows all games live with commentary. Most likely they will show the game this Friday at a venue called The Limmerick Arms in South Melbourne. It's a good venue and should attract a pretty good croud on Friday. On Saturday there would have been at least 40 people watching the league.

Is the Limmerick Arms the one on Clarendon Street? I think they are showing all the finals games live.
 
I think the Limmerick Arms Hotel is showing all finals live. They did last weekend. Was a cracking atmosphere in there and they had the sound turned right up. Corner of Clarendon and Park. Get there early to grab a good posy.
 
Make sure to check the League of Our Own website before heading down to the Limmerick, as I spoke to the organiser last night and he said that for the Saturday game he might have to relocate it.

After that though, yeah, most likely they'll all be at the Limmerick.
 
We ended up going to Charles Dickens in Collins st.All pubs including this one had the sound off (Afl had the sound) but there was a great atmosphere there.

All up there was 4 WT fans and 4 Raiders fans.WE carried on to other bars and had a blinder.

And on tue morning up the road from our hotel I had the strange feeling of Buying tix foor a Wests Tigers game in a final in Exibition st.

That was won of the gutsiest win ever.
