Members Day

I'd say a few hundred loyal faithful. I thought last year's turnout was bigger. Perhaps the heart breaking loss to Souths may have deterred a few people from attending. I know i struggled to get out of bed this morning, but forced myself to be there. I guess it's part and parcel of being a true supporter. Stick by the club, the team and the players through the good times and the bad. Plus, was stoked to score myself two Chris 'Man Child' Lawrence game worn jerseys!! Made attending the day worthwhile and lightened the foul mood I was in courtesy of Saturday nights events.

Might try and get along to this, it's my birthday so perhaps if I ask nicely Sheens will play four forwards on the bench

What did he say???

Great day out at Camp Concord. Players though down put on a brave face for the fans. Good exposure for the Gareth Army…

Where did Sir Tim.. go after his sincere interview??

Dogged it did he?
Didnt hang around?

Nor should he…

Sheens should be doing everything in his power to ensure it gets turned around against Penriff...

Do you really think that's why he didn't stick around? He shouldn't have bothered turning up at all then if he couldn't stick around for a bit to answer a few questions.

I didn't go, I had another sporting event on. Usually the members days are all the same anyway. I hear those who went had a great time.

That's pretty much what happened with me…, after attending the dark clouds around my head evaporated.

I know how angry everyone is with Beau, but i really felt for him and i forgive him, after all he's human and it's not like he killed anyone.

I reckon Beau is probably more angry with himself than what most supporters are.

It was a fantastic day and kudos to the players for their time and despite the result their attitude.

Spoke with Stephen Humphries (class act) and he was extremely honest about the feeling at the club after the night before.

B Ryan was really hurting and so apologetic it was almost sad to see how it had affected him. The test will be has he the inner strength to pick himself up. I think the camp will do that.

Benji was an absolute star and spent a lot of time with everyone who wanted to get pictures and autographs. Interestingly during the players interviews and after he was standing talking to Sheens for a while with Royce Simmons.

Gareth Ellis Army was awesome, fantastic idea guys. Can i have a t-Shirt?!

Lote was down as well and know he was really beating himself up and was really looking forward to the camp at Kiama as are the squad.

Liam Fulton was walking about at the kids clinic and great with kids. As were the under 20s boys, Jay Florimo, Jr Roqica, and Jake Mullany for the kids clinics my son had the time of his life and thanks for the signed ball, he hasn't let it go.

A great well organised day and for any members who were going to go but because of the result on Saturday you missed out.

Mothermagpie - you should have attended - it was such a fun day that your mood would have been uplifted.

MEMBERS ENJOY MINGLING WITH THEIR HEROES
9/08/2010 11:16:48 AM

The Wests Tigers squad were out in force yesterday, spending time with more than 1000 Members at the Club’s annual Members’ Day at Concord Oval.

Despite the loss on Saturday night to the South Sydney Rabittohs, Robbie Farah and coach Tim Sheens remained upbeat about their finals chances when they addressed the crowd at the start of the day.

Both men acknowledged how disappointing it was to lose the match but vowed that the side would perform a whole lot better this Sunday at Campbelltown against the Panthers.

The Wests Tigers dance team kicked things off with a brilliant routine which was followed by Chief Executive Stephen Humphreys who thanked the Members for their support and reinforced how important they are to the club’s overall success.

Captain Farah, Benji Marshall, Gareth Ellis, Lote Tuqiri, Tim Sheens and Beau Ryan were then interviewed on stage about the season and the road ahead.

After the official part of the day was over, members then enjoyed the opportunity to mingle with their heroes or take part in a skills session conducted on the field by Wests Tigers squad members.

There was also a jumping castle for the kids as well as the chance to buy the latest in Wests Tigers merchandise.

The day concluded with members getting the chance to mingle with their heroes’ one on one in an official autograph session.

Wests Tigers would like to thank its sponsors Proton Cars, Trend Micro, Modern Solar, C91.3 FM and Krispy Kreme who provided Members with different stalls, competitions and treats to make the day fun and interactive.
