Membership question?

My mates bought 5 gold memberships together for the Leichardt and the SFS games back in early November. One of my mates organised the seats thinking we would be in the main Leichhardt Grandstand. However just had a look and we are in Bay 7 the concourse on the 20m metre line, 5 rows from the front. Hardly gold value seats. I remember signing up a couple of years ago for a bronze membership and getting the same seats in the same bay, bay 7.

It seems a bit of a stitch up paying $340 for gold (8 game package) as opposed to $190 odd for bronze (8 game package) and being given almost the exact same seats at Leichhardt. Our SFS seats look like gold valued seats in the middle. Obviously with Leichhardt they have changed their seating plans and shuffled the Bronze areas to over in front of the hill.

Was just wondering if there was any way of changing and getting better seats for this deal either in the grandstand or closer to halfway on the concourse at Leichhardt? As my mate when he signed up all 5 of us was under the impression that we would be in the grandstand under cover when your paying for GOLD membership.

What made your mate think you were going to be seated undercover in the Latchem Robinson stand? I'd imagine those gold seats in that stand and especially the undercover seats would already be taken by existing members and unless those members choose not to renew that would be your only chance of being seated there and even then i doubt you all would of been seated together.

Call the membership department on 8741-3300 and I'm sure they will be able to swap them with any better available gold seats still available.

i thought i had problems. I complain from the grand stand. Still the rain gets me. Im too old to stand up & watch the whole game. Its gold to just to sit down Eddie. Just stay out of the rain.

Eddie, you get a better view and some shelter standing in the concourse than those crappy gold seats in the bays in front of the stand, maybe if you score seats on halfway towards the top of the bay where you are elevated, but to be behind the 25m and nearly on ground level gives you a very restricted view.

Its the old catch 22, to get the good seats undercover we need to play out of a cement jungle with no atmosphere,so Iam willing to get wet but its really over the top to be paying the same dollars as the people who are getting these seats. Maybe the club should stop being greedy and actually sell these seats under a silver package like in years gone by

Nothing bronze in front of the hill…..bronze is behind the posts.

This is from the same bloke who said the only guarantee to last years round one game was to purchase an exorbitant $60+ GA membership

They are squeezing every last drop from LO....you should buy at Cambo....same packages are cheaper too

I cant even remember to tell you the truth. Couple of years ago I could have sworn i had a silver or bronze package and was on the 20m line on the Leichhardt concourse. The reason we decided to upgrade to gold was to be in the grandstand, or at least closer to halfway in the seats below the grandstand. Anyway maybe we had to get in earlier to claim these, not complaining just trying to figure it out.

And Ink your right, the same year i had a LO/CS membership i was in the Leichhart concourse and the Ctown grandstand. Was clearly a better seating position and value for money. Anyway, maybe there are more members signed up for LO.

Just don't know if i would have bothered paying the full $340 if i knew i had dud seats 5 rows from the fron, when you get a better vantage point actually standing up behind those seats.

Many members that last season had silver found that next year their seats would now be classed as gold at LO….mark ups of $400-500....bit rude really.

It was the reason I upgraded from GA membership at SFS, was pretty certain I had a chance there with availablity to get better, dry seats....managed to score seats on about 30m not too far back but u/cover....at approx $33 per game still fair value but many pkgs now are just not worth it....but theres always someone will pay, or they'll keep forking out to retain their seats

I never read than fans would be gouged yearly to keep their seats when membership was first promoted big in the NRL 5 or 6 years back....if your mechanic or accountant raised his prices similarly you'd go elsewhere, but here the club know theyve a hook in many

You sound like you got my old SILVER Seats there Eddie….What a rort, we had those seats for years, suddenly at the end of the season they were upgraded from Silver to Gold (with an increase of about $900.00 all up for this family)

We now have Silver seats on the halfway line,4 rows up on the hill side of the ground, they sound good, and won't have to worry about the sun at least next year, because all games are at night...

No doubt they will be flogged as gold seats next year.............Love the Wests Tigers, but geez they are making it tough

I just cant see how they can charge the same money for seats out in the open subject to the elements with a lesser view to seats undercover with a great view.Airlines charge more for business class seats than they do for premium economy seats. I would love to have someone from the club try to justify their pricing policy, it just dosnt make sense.I would be giving a rebate to all the people sitting in the concourse of maybe 50 bucks

Could someone please provide an answer to this hypothethical?

How much of the total crowd capacity at say, Leichhardt Oval, would the total Wests Tigers membership packages cover? Let's say the crowd capacity at Leichhardt Oval is 15,000 and the total Wests Tigers membership package covers 11,500\. This would leave a 3,500 capacity available for the Group of Opposition Team Supporters and West Tigers Supporters who did not purchase a package. If so, I can see a lot of this Group turning up at the entrance to the Leichhardt Oval and going home dissappointed because there was not enough seating capcaity left available for them? Am I correct?

Youre assuming every member decides to go….some memberships are non ticketed, theyre counted in the total, others are GA....I wonder if Tommy the grey is counted in the total 😕 they along with non members get first pick of seats left that are non reserved I think nowadays only those seats behind dead ball line

No one goes home without seeing a game, sell outs are well publicised and early ticket sales encouraged

As always, first in best dressed, if one wishes to sit in the pub till 2.50pm on a Sun arvo when they used to play Souths there, you'll be disappointed Id guess

Just updating you all. After one of our group of 5 had a chat about the seats they have reallocated us to the front row of Bay 4 in the Grandstand at Leichhardt Oval. Which id more Gold seating to me then being on the 20m line on the concourse. Not sure if it was a stuff up on their behalf, or whether because we had a silver or bronze package in those seats a couple of years ago they just decided to whack us there again even though we were paying top dollar for gold.

Anyway, happy with the outcome.
