Take a leaf out of the Newcastle Knights book. Basically same scenario is playing out in the Hunter, a Newcastle Junior who has lived in the region his whole life who is being forced to leave and find a new club and home for his family, along with a big cleanout of some of Newcastles more liked players with new players being brought in. They have had a mountain of injuries including their key play maker Jarrod Mullen along with Junior Sau to name a few. I know signings have been made which would appease the supporters, but changes little when it comes to on field performance. As well as a much loved coach being told he will no longer be needed as head coach for 2012.
Bottom line…Newcastle are playing for each other. They have accepted the fact their days are numbered as a squad but still find themselves entrenched in the top 6\. They have swallowed their pride and play as a team with heart. There are no show ponies in the Knights, just a bunch of hard-working players who are willing to dig deep for each other when the going gets tough. I know who i'd want in the trenches with me.
I still think we can turn our season around but the club needs the support of the fans coupled with some fire from the players themselves! All is not lost!
