Good stuff. I played with his brother Craig in National Army Rep team. He played a lot like Brad.I know Carty well, he was my prop at St Marys before he went to grade. He was hard, but brusier definitely got the better of him. Plenty of players I know personally or played against in that Penrith side. Izzard was an arch enemy at work - he played for 8/12 and the Artillery Corps Team and I played for Gallipoli Engineers and The RAE Corps Team. Served in Malaysia with his brother a couple of years earlier.
Cartwright was out of his league there, he was going down anyway, think Benny only grabbed thin air. What a pack, would rival any of the great sets of forwards.Great day at LO. Scrappy at times but lots of intensity !
Hahah we had demountable back then tooWith scores locked at 22-all, five-eighth Andrew Willis stepped up to nail a long-distance field goal and sink the North Sydney Bears in a Monday night thriller back on 19 August, 1996.
The Blow up doll. Hated every moment of his time in our colours. This flog was out worst signing. Sheenius.
Hate how much he rags on the tigers despite the fact we gave him a fat superannuation payout. Unbelievable that he jagged a gig on fox.
What a ripper kick !Hahah we had demountable back then too
Those were the days, pity I can’t see any of the current Tigers pack showing any of that fire.Back in the day they used to have a sign up at Lidcombe Oval advertising the next home game. Before a match against the Silvertails, they'd have: Wests v Manly - War
No team has any fear of playing us, perhaps less grabbing and more shoulder and leg drive into the tackle might change their minds. Those were the days, pity I can’t see any of the current Tigers pack showing any of that fire.
Not talking blues, just ripping in. Currently not in our DNA.

Beautifil, rhythmic running style. Nothing better than pure speed.Bloody terrific. Thanks PandC1.
Loved Maxie Krilich whinging about this game. He's never recovered. Those were the days, pity I can’t see any of the current Tigers pack showing any of that fire.

I was at this game. It was unbelievable. Back in those days Wests took it right to the limit and often crossed over. Still good to watch although we'll never see the likes of it again and that's probably a good thing. Those were the days, pity I can’t see any of the current Tigers pack showing any of that fire.

💯 for some reason we pile up those "i-don't-tackle-hard" big, slow pillow forwards (Twal, Woods, Sayfarth, Twal, Etinghousen etc.)!Those were the days, pity I can’t see any of the current Tigers pack showing any of that fire.

Ultimate legend, underrated too.
One of my all time favourites - tough as nails he was!
