Merge with Parra?

As someone has said previously,we have already merged, why merge again…
The most interesting thing for me is,when the merger took place I was dubious about it because I was from the Balmain side and so I feel the Magpies were as well...but we have proven that our bonds are very strong because now we are the WESTS Tigers..we have been through some tough times and there could be more to follow, but we have stuck together even though some still tried the old them against us trick..which has now almost completely gone( thank God for that)..
If we are to believe that this new board is taking us in the right direction albeit we will lose some skin falling over on the way,but we pick ourselves up and surge ahead, won't that make us even more proud that we have stuck by each other and our team and club is going to be a force in the years to come...you can't tell me that we haven't had harder times than this before...ok the results on the field aren't great, but we were told early on not to expect great things,it will take time..

My big dream is to see more kids become fans of the WESTS Tigers as well as families and other people wanting to support a rugby league team..to be honest most kids don't know the reasons for the them v us ..they only know WTs and that in itself is a good thing..our pasts are in the history books and can be searched anytime,in the mean time we must fly the Wests Tigers flag as high as we can,we do not give in easily ..I really think if we tread water for a while until things get better financially, good things wil happen for us...
As for the merger with another club or relocation..I won't support it one bit, untill all our problems have had a chance to be dealt with in a professional and business like manner and there is no other way...

I apologise for the passion in my post, but that's just me,I don't give up on something easily without all options being exhausted...cheers guys...

Well said TT  I guess we all have to retain our commitment and passion for our team. I just hope the players feel this way too 😛ray: 😛ray:

I hate to admit this but we would probably need to merge with a competent, professional and successful club on and off the field (wether you like them or hate them) and geographically suitable.

Connect the dots Balmain, Wests Ashfield, …..........., Western Suburbs Campbelltown.

Any ideas anyone?

Think it's hilarious that anyone would suggest we merge with another team given our current merger hasn't worked and continuous to show signs of difficulty

Next we will see a purple tiger running around like it nearly happened back in the Sydney Tigers days…..

Can you imagine what the board would be like parra/wests/tigers all going for it. Pistols at 20 paces in no time

Once merged the club would be big enough to not be a victim of leagues clubs boards.

Please note a merge is different from a joint venture. The football club would need to be separate to the leagues clubs. Leagues clubs have power because of funding. The proposition to the leagues clubs would be that the club would be big enough to fund itself within a decade.

The new football team / club would stop being the focus of the leagues club. The leagues clubs could then go back to funding junior development and community programs rather than pay millionaires to play football. These clubs could then truly support the community rather than the current grey zone of funds being sunk into overpaid professional footballers.

The squabbling of amateur leagues club boards would be a thing of the past. The club would be like The Broncos… They are big enough to be past amateur hour.

The Corporate draw of a super Western Sydney club would be immense. The memberships would be immense. The stadium could be extended to 30k to cater for more paying fans. Our new centre of excellence could be used.

There is lots to like. There is also lots of wishful thinking that our current situation will miraculously change. I really hope we don't need to merge. I was part of a team that 'merged' a big business from its knees. You may think we are already on our knees. I can tell you we are not. You may think your positive thinking will result in our next three year plan working... It won't. Unless our leaders change the fundamentals we are heading for our knees.

Gosh I sound negative. I really didn't realise how sick of the repeated talk and unsubstantiated plans.

Yes….
The game has too many teams in the west of Sydney as is.
Scrap the Wests Tigers. They are a debacle. Im a Balmain fan and wouldn't miss them. And realistically they have, and always will be the lowest on the ladder out of ALL western sydney teams.
Bring in Perth and work on PNG
Piss Cronulla off also. Merge them with St George.
If you can't admit to this you are deluded.

Not true buddy Balmain, WT have always been just out of the eight team with the potential to beat topp 4 teams on a good day…. Lest we forget
