Listening to that interview has me thinking

I reckon the club has possibly dumped him

Especially once he started talking about Brooks and Moses , they aren't his responsibility

Benji , I have been on your case ,but best of luck in the future you have done many good things for our great club ,pity you couldn't turn your form around

It's what I've been thinking by reading in between the lines lately too mate.
Though I can't understand why they would. I don't think it would be an attitude or performance thing.

Also, enjoy my new Avatar…

Mate gutsy move with the Ribot Avatar Least it will only be for 8 weeks

Look the interview with Erin Molan on 9 ,bit of an amateur at reading into body language

Many times Benji is saying stuff but he is nodding no while saying it Usually means he is being deceptive or he doesn't believe it unless he is shy or doesn't have confidence

Watch it again and you will see what I mean with the body language stuff

Hopefully it's for 12 weeks.

I only watched a bit of the footy show interview and I agree with you. I find it hard to believe that out of the blue he would want to leave. I thought the message on the website he also seems very uncomfortable. I'm sure one day we will find out the full story.

Thats what I have been thinking as well. With 2 years to go on his contract, surely renegotiations wouldnt have commenced for at least another year? It seems possible that his deal was redone and thats why he was told to answer by Monday night. After seeing how contract deals happened with other boys he could well have been pushed out. We'll probably know after he is gone.

Watching hat it makes me think his prime of his career was when he was 19\. 24 and sadly for him he was injured and missed most of those years except for 05, imagine what he could have been if he wasn't injured in his best years

In any highly edited interview, things can be misrepresented.

As for the head nodding sideways, it can also mean he is 'listening intently'. It does not always mean 'no'. In some cultures, it means the exact opposite. I'm not sure you can take too much from that.

What he does do though is keeps repeating himself on certain points. He either believes them intently and doesn't think others believe him so he has to ram it home, or he doesn't fully believe those points and he is trying to convince himself.

Either way, I don't care. He has been good for the club. Has served us loyally (as we have with him) and as far as teaching the youngsters and sponsorship and profile go, I pray he comes back in a few years to the Tigers and helps us.

Benji became star at a young age and has had people falling over themselves every day to pump his tyres. To some this means he surrounded himself with yes men but to me it simply shows a young fella making his way through life who is genuinely a good person but like all of us may not always make the best decisions or take the right advice. It amazes me that people can be so judgemental about a someone whose circumstances they have no hope of truly understanding.

With all the speculation and emotion surrounding the last month or so, a lot of people seem to have forgotten how much good Benji has done over the years not just for the team and club but for others.

Why didn't he do this video a week ago? Who really knows but perhaps he didn't see it as necessary a week ago and perhaps didn't foresee things going down the way they did.

All his detractors on this forum could pack up and take their support away from the club today and it would make little difference to the big picture - a picture that Benji Marshall has had a big hand in creating. There is a whole fan base out there who have loved the Benji Marshall brand of excitement that only remember the good times and will carry the club on.

Anyway good on you Benji, thank you for helping make the WT brand successful and I would welcome you back to my club in some capacity in the future.

For better or worse the Wests Tigers will not be same without you Benj, thanks for the all the great memories, you will always be a true Tigers legend ! (any chance of one last run in ya, lets say to the GF?)
