Message from WT CEO

Sheens will not stay in a senior role we know that , it's just a way of pushing him away and making Sheens ask for a release at a reduced rate . Not a bad idea ….

To me, it sounds like they couldn't get Sheens to resign with a reasonable payout and they couldn't afford the 900k up front to sack him. By keeping him on in a 'senior role', he will still get the 900k but over two years which gives us a much better chance of coming up with the money.

I just hope Sheens doesn't have too much influence on the new coach. I guess when the team list is named for round 1, if Benji is named at half we will know

Theyre hoping he'll walk…hedging their bets.

What new coach would come here knowing a 600game verteran, Australian coach and the teams prior coach for the past decade will be around every day lookin over his shoulder??

What players are going to come, not really knowing whos in charge and knowing how they treat current players?

What club relieves a first grade coach of 10 years without having a ready replacement?

I know they must say things to get ulterior results, lie, bend the truth....but imo the club is looking very very shady and deceitful...the average punter fan sees this and thinks, what BS this clubs full of.

Moltzen drama, Gibbs & Fafita....now Heighno & Ryan....very very poorly handled

Doubt very much he will stay…this is just a ploy to give him time to organise another contract with someone like Warriors. The deal will be whoever picks him will subsidise his payout ...he will not lose 'face' ...everyone will be happy..Happy

Totally agree , they are trying to get Sheens time to organize his ducks and drakes , but you never know

I agree and felt like they were BS all of us by saying they still wanted Sheens connected with the club in some way , like please you think we are that stupid and can't read between the lines . :crazy
Humpty is a liar and a great salesman.

I think he summed things up well. Yes it could be labeled as spin, but his job is to put a positive message out their and he did that.

Not sure if I want Tim as a mentor to a young coach like Parish, but of course their is the financial side of things to consider.Their was also no mention of the salary cap, it would be nice to know where we are at with our cap as their are plenty of rumors going around.

Anyway I think the CEO responded well and all systems go for 2013

I agree. The club needs to move forward, put these events behind them and remain positive heading into the off-season. There's plenty of work to be done but I believe there is certainly enough talent in the playing group to be playing finals football. The rest will come down to what structure the new coaching staff put in place and how the players respond.

This restructure will include the appointment of a new NRL Coach for 2013.

Great, let's hope this doesn't drag out for too long

A sub-committee has been formed which will lead the process of selection and appointment. This process will commence immediately.

oookay, seems like a waste of time to form a sub-committee though

The Board has also expressed a strong desire for current Head Coach Tim Sheens to remain at the Club in a senior role.

The strong desire being we can't pay him out? How would another coach feel about Sheens still there in some capacity?

"Having now gone through a very thorough process, I can advise you that the Board of Wests Tigers has decided to restructure the Club’s Football operations. This restructure will include the appointment of a new NRL Coach for 2013.

I hope the sub-committee is ready to be lobbied by The Parrott for his mate Matt Parish. I also hope they tell AJ, "thanks, but no thanks". Anyone but Matt Parish will suffice.

Humphreys sub-committee I have taken fiveblack and gold puppets from my drawer and i will have my fist up everyone of them. They will say yess stephen no stephen Matt parish is coach Stephen.

It's clear what your agenda is. I can see you fitting in well around here, albeit briefly.

Interesting no one has mentioned the fact Sheens wasn't at the Presser. Would have thought that would have been a talking point. Was he too proud for that?

I also think that it is over reaction, when 2 good brokes chosed to look after themselves. They are good but not good enough in the scheme of things. They are not breaking tackles and easily contained. If they are that good I wouldn't be surprised that a 3 years contract would have been infront of them.I am sure there are young ones coming up who are more hungry than them that can do the job.I rather have players that are 100% focus, instead of resting on their past glory or being a joker and have other things to worry about other than playing football.Besides if it is not their bread and butter alone, they will have other things to occupy them. I hope all our players are hungry enough to want to do well. They must be totally committed instead of a token contribution only. I hope that our new coach will want to succeed on his own accord, not being a politician. So to me, action speak louder than words. I like the runs on the board, not excuses anymore. Glory be with the TIGERS, they deserve it. :sign:

Not the done thing.
Decisions are - supposedly - being made about him by others, its not the place for him.

That said, I wonder just home much say he has in all this?

Wow, thats a touch heavy willow….no rules were broken here that I can see.
Threats of banning unnecessary imo
I think we ALL have our own agendas of some sort or another

Would really like to know who is going to be on the subcommittee ..the way I would see it …Tim shouldn't be as there would be a conflict of interest at this stage, players ( maybe the club captain for a lot of very good reasons at the moment) but no one else , some sort of HR person from the club cause these blood suckers always have to stick their nose in , Humphreys cause he has to deal with the Coach day to day and no doubt one or 2 from the Board with football team management experience.

My main concern is getting real footballers, not politicians, buddies2, token contributers and not totally committed. The players must eat, sleep, think and talk about football and not treat it as a hobby as they have some other work. That goes for the coach too, whoever he may be. If they don't perform, they will not hold their place in the team. By doing this way, every member will be totally committed, not rest on past laurels, and worrying about other things when they have a game on.We have some players joing the WT who have good attitudes. It can only bring benefit to the club. Glory to the WEST TIGERS

I though Humphreys and Trodden were great in the press conference and in the email. They were straight forward and made the clear and important point that you don'trush big decisions because they have big impacts and they spoke with respect about a coach who has been great for us and I think it will be interesting what happens with Tim next year after it is worked through. He could be great running our junior developement programs, working with sponsors, assisting coaches, community7 programs ,etc a great role to drive the club forward in some key areas

They were straight forward and clear.  No new coach as of yet and sheens has not been sacked and we dont know his job and we cant answer any other questions at this stage.Dumb and Dumber(humpty and trod-on) make the gestapo look outspoken.I can tell you senior players wont want sheens within 30km of camp concord next year.

An excellent letter from the CEO.

This.

Written with poise and elegance. It is precisely what is needed during this perceived time of instability.

Even if it's BS (my gut says it isn't) it's a strong statement.

Call me cynical but I think Humpty was merely reacting to the avalanche of criticism the club has received in past weeks. He is trying to cover his own backside for sure.
