Michael Jennings could yet end up at the Wests Tigers

Tigers recruitment manager Warren McDonnell yesterday threw support behind 24-year-old Ayshford, who only last year extended his contract until the end of 2015.

"The only people talking about Blake leaving are in the media," McDonnell said. "No one here has said anything about him going.

"He's contracted for another three years and we expect him to be here. Obviously you can never say what's going to happen in the future, but we expect Blake to be playing for Wests Tigers in 2013."

McDonnell sounds like a Sheens clone. Next thing we will hear "We had to let Blake go salary cap issues"

What a joke for anything over 400k
Too many eggs in one basket. What about if he gets an injury? What about origin? I'd rather that extra money was spent on depth and the club shows faith in Ayshford to recover his form under a new coach…
If Lawrence returns to form next year then we lose both centers unless Morris has another good year.

We won't be paying all his contract if he does come to us, he will earn 650k, a portion of that would be from us, and Penrith will pay the rest. As for origin, the only way Lawrence and Jennings will both make it is if Morris is injured, because based on the series just past Morris is one of the first picked.

If we do get him on a deal like that i hope it works out like Payten from the Roosters,it may be a coincidence but the Forwards seemed to slowly loose their way after he retired.
My mail is he will be staying put unless Penrith can clear the decks financially with him.

$650K wow thats B/S money… Hope they give Hitchcox and a couple others from NSW cup ago this year. There on 5k to 10k a year and I really beleive there s a couple who would go well at NRL level given half a chance.

I have a feeling that we've missed the boat on most player signings for next season considering preseason starts in just over 2 weeks. A much as it would be awesome I doubt we will see Jennings in the gold n black next year.

Potter has said on 2UE that there will not be any major signings & is happy with the current squad but there may be an opening for a depth player if there was one available.

To be fair he also said he had no idea about our cap position either or had seen tapes of the players.

He actually appeared to know little about our squad which I view as a positive.

Give him a few weeks and things may change after he reviews and preseason starts.

Reading into this I would prefer Tim Grant to Jennings ,just think go forward is more important to the team as it is . With go forward the backs we have and the youngsters we have coming through would shine.

I agree, it is 250/1 the chance of Jennings playing with Tigers 2013\. Why perserve with this thread?
