He's pretty average though…cant tackle ..

Should fit right in then…

Its ok Yoss , we will play him on our strong side and play him on the wing with Benji and Ayshford to protect him 😱pen_mouth:

Teams would be mad to attack that side

Especially if we can get Sam Williams or Quade Cooper. Blokes would be crapping themselves…

Basically the whole team had a poor defensive year. I wouldn't be too quick to attack one person/area. The team needs to work collectively to fix their issues.

MICHAEL JENNINGS remains for sale - but it's not because he is disliked by the Penrith management. The Panthers are going to have to cut one of their big four - Jennings, Tim Grant, Sam McKendry or Lachlan Coote. The club will squeeze through next year under the cap but 2014 will be a problem. Dragons fans won't like to hear this news but Penrith thought they had solved their problems when the board were set to release Jennings to St George Illawarra. After the transfer had been agreed upon, Jennings's manager, Isaac Moses, decided to block the deal, details of which have been leaked to me. It was Dragons assistant coach Steve Folkes who initiated the attempt to bring him to the club - and the Panthers were going to have to pay less than $200,000 of his deal, which is set to cost them about $2 million over the next three years. Moses did not like the fact that Jennings was being shifted to the Dragons; he has been proposing a deal for Jennings to go to the Wests Tigers but it would cost Penrith $600,000\. That is not out of the question but it will need to be signed off by general manager Phil Gould. You can be certain Gould won't be pleased the move to the Dragons fell through; it was far better for the Panthers

I know its only Weidler again - but interesting take on the rumour although i fail to see what either Jennings or his manager gain by forcing Penrith to make up more of any contract. It would mean however that we would only be up for $1.4 million if we took on his existing contract - approx $460k a season.

Nowhere near worth 460k a season

Sounds like a lot of $$ but thinking about it I don't know if I agree with you.
Today's prices are relative (to others that is). Basically, if Blair and W Hopoate are getting paid crazy money then surely Jennings is worth that if he stays out of trouble.
He is the top echelon of centres in the game so he probably does command top dollar.

There is no substitute for speed, and we need it…...BUT! we obviously need a halfback more...... so this is all moot.

So Folkes wanted Jennings at the Dragons? And it was pretty much a done deal. So lets get Folkes as head coach and sign Jennings as well.

At full strength Id like to see,

1\. Tedesco
2\. Nofouluma
3\. Jennings
4\. Lawrence
5\. Korobiete
6\. Marshall
7\. Miller

X3 miller was impressive today running the ball

So you want 4 rookies in th backline who haven't played more then 10 games of fg between them , would be good for the future but we would end up last in 2013

Hey Boon boon they gotta start somewhere, why not now You have Marshall, Lawrence, and mabe (and i mean a big MAYBE) jennings in the back line with over 300 games+ between them to help them blokes ease into 1st grade everyone in here is having a big whinge here for the past 12 months about giving our young blokes a go if they dont get a go i am sure some other club will pick them up in a heart beat, and you are also forgetting them Rookies helped us yesterday win the Under 20"s Grand Final.

South Sydney had 4 rookies in their backline for most of the year.
Reynolds, hunt, everingham, farrell.
They didn't come last

They didn't have that as thier starting backline with those 4\. I think the youngsters are all potential stars but I don't think u can risk all 4 being you starting choices. Tedesco if he is fit yes, koriobete yes. Nofoaluma needs another year ( and has it in the under 20s as he is still eligible-let's not rush him and mayby look to get him in when njuries strike or towards the end of the year. Miller I'm not as taken with yet and I think he needs a year of nsw cup and full time first grade training to put some size on , cherry Evans, Reynolds neither of them played even a single game of first grade till they were 21 so miller has already had more of a chance then either of them. I would start with anasta and benji and perhaps bring in sironen not miller

Back line will prob look like this next year:
1: tedesco
2: tuqiri
3: ayshford
4: Lawrence
5: koro
6: Marshall
7: anasta

I thought whilst sirro was good for us this year in attack, he got exposed out wide with his lack of pace. I can't see him as our future 5/8 so he should make the transition to lock now because it is inevitable that is where he'll end up. Pack woul look like

8: woods
9: Farah
10: Galloway
11: Blair
12: Fulton
13: sirro

Bench

14: BMM
15: pettbourne
16: kite
17: moltzen

x4 and if we don't get Jennings I would not mind Simona.

What's wrong with rookies? Yow yeh falou waqa koribete etc etc plenty burst onto the scene and are more than capable of handling the big time… Rather risk a rookie than persist with over the hill guys where u know they r only going to provide average performances, not something spectacular like the rookies may...

All the rookies u mentioned play(ed) for different teams do its fine having one rookie per backline, but if all those rookies started in the same team it would be a fail!
