Disagree seasons over, and he is only young. You don’t want a third ACL, pretty much career over.
I am with sheens on this one
I disagree with this. Every game is a chance to improve match fitness, hone key skills, gel with team mates, get confidence back. On the later it’s probably even more important to get him back this year when it doesn’t matter so he’s good to go for next season.

Not at all. Sheens wants to see how Doueihi fits with the current squad, particularly position wise.

Some believe he is a centre, some believe he is a 5/8 and others a modern 13. He will be back against Manly, worst case the following round against the dogs. It will likely be via the bench (don't be surprised to see him name on the extended bench to come in on game day). He has been training in the middle along with centre.

On another note, Blore is recovering well ahead of schedule which is good news as he will now have a full pre-season.
Good news

When was the last time a coach turned a team of battlers into world beaters….Probably Sheens.
Not even Sheens. In 2003 with the likes of Miles, Pearson, Withers etc we were battlers, but we didn’t make the 8. We wouldn’t have won the comp without signing Hodgson and Prince. Then throw in Richards, Payton, Whatuira, Elford etc, plus unearthing Benji and Robbie. They weren’t battlers in the slightest.

If he services this review he will be our coach for the rest of his contract I believe sheens has had 6 months to decide weather he is the man to lead us or not if he isn’t sheens would sack him now

My Gut feeling is if Cameron C said he wants the job I think Madge would be gone but CC is holding out as he doesn't want to be a Cleary and accept the job and then we sack Madge..
Doesn't want to be that GUY... Which is fair enough in this industry.
Hope Madge stays but unlikely I think
100%. His statement is a nudge nudge wink wink to Sheens that he wants the job.

Feels like this “review” was nothing but hot air. If they were going to sack him, you’d think they’d do it the week leading into the bye, not the week after. Looks like he’ll live to fight another day.
Makes sense. I sometimes wonder if they leak this stuff to gauge public opinion before acting, reading the room so to speak. All organisations are political so might be part of the process.

If they are going to sack him they will probably announce it 1 minute before Origin kick off so it isn't back page the next day 🤣

It looks like the board called for his head , and the football department went through the motions to arrive at the decision they were always going to . Madge is the coach until 2023.
I’ve definitely been apart of similar before or seen it done .
If someone wants to get rid of you , they just will . Reviews, investigations ,reports etc. are just fluff to to keep the wolves at the door .

The trouble with a board without game knowledge with the power to make decisions regarding football matters. Not sure if Sheens has the answers but would back him over anyone on the board every day of the week.

Sheens wants AD to take the year off and get right... seasons over.

Madge wants him back, as soon as possible.

Madges job is potentially on the line and knows AD brings a lot to the team... desperate for wins.

Assume AD wants to play also.

I wonder if this will cause a serious issue between Timmy and Mikey?
Seems strange as a player is either fit and ready to resume playing following a serious injury or not.

With half a season to go, it would be madness to have a player that walks into the side and is ready to roll, to then be sitting on the sideline instead of contributing.

This is the outcome but Sheens’ controlling a narrative

All we know sheens is in the driver's seat.
Absolutely right, the officials were quick to absolve themselves from the responsibility.

To get to the bottom of the players not performing at optimum, I think we needed a sports psychologist on the review team. Someone to help explain the disconnect between Madge’s instructions and performance.

I think if Madge was able to have his public say, his tenure has been littered with players not following game plans, poor execution, befuddlement and eyes down, ridiculous locker room revolutions, unwanted and inept interference from Lee and co, players he doesn’t want, players we couldn’t get for him greedy players and player managers etc. And he gets lumped with it and a gun to his head.

He very rarely crosses players or makes excuses. He’s very good at media. He is a leader, no question. He works harder than anyone else in the game. He never sings his own praises.

We know he has many friends across the game, Gus, Matthew Elliot, Bellyache and others and he sucks up their advice. His assistants are in there too, telling him what the players are capable of etc.

And despite the propaganda, my guess is Tim has had a major hand in quiet advice in his sounding board role. I’d be surprised if he ratted on Madge, but this is rugby league and we are all used to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Nowhere to hide, it’s a cruel game which is part of its beauty.

But all that said, we need some circuit breakers, the best kind being an elite player or two but you look at the dogs, and Trent couldn’t integrate his enormous talent with his muppets.

And we’d be foolish not to hunt down the top underlings from the top squads and use their knowledge.

Forget the wins, the best thing this year has been those astronomical completion rates and weight of possession. If that can be nailed, some minimal fine dining in attack and we’d struggle to lose a game.

If he’s punted here and now, as @stryker 69 has pointed out, the timing couldn’t be any worse. And unless I’m wrong, that’s not a reflection or comment of his suitability etc just a consideration we should weigh up. It’s a sound point.

We won’t know whether sacking him or not is a good idea until we do it. No trial run!
