Mick Potter on the Sunday Footy Show

Poor bastard looks like a broken man . He should let rip and have a massive rant ..( but I guess it wouldn't help his future coaching career )?

Poor choice of shirt mick

So no three opportunitys to address either old and or new boards…as mayer reported.

Seemed genuinely positive though about the now admin

Didn't have support to do what he felt he needed to do from the beginning of the year….sums it up for me....we suck the end

I don't know about you but that confirms for me that Robbie caused him plenty of trouble

Yeah thats what I picked from it too. He didn't seem that dirty on the board or Grant and probably more disappointed that he didn't get the chance to work with the new board and the professionalism that will bring.

He continues to be a very impressive man and while I understand he needed to go as coach purely because the club needed a fresh start - I hope and think he will get another first grade job soon

I got the feeling he wanted to put Robbie in his place much earlier but felt (and was probably right) that Robbie had the ear of the old board more then he had

Can you believe Robbie didn't want to play. Wanted to pull out the morning of a game because he was upset at stuff he caused…..great captain

I'm surprised that he spoke still so positively about the place after the way he was treated. Thought that he would really let fly at a few people in that interview.

I can cause it's Robbie…I just hope the next bloke takes no crap from any player no matter who it is...

Doesn't surprise me KS

I'll give you an example

If Robbie had been given the OK that he didn't need a game under his belt to play Game 1 SOO I'll bet he wouldn't have played v Cronulla

I wonder what some of the calls Potter spoke about were ??

Captaincy ??

Happy I think you got it… Potter wanted to strip the captaincy off him.

I think we have to take it off him now but it's hard to pick a replacement.

Blair will only be here for one more year, Woods I don't see as a captain, and Lawrence is struggling to keep his spot.

You'd have to make it co-captains I think . Imagine the dummy spit from Farah if he was stripped of the captaincy .

I honestly think a dummy spit would be great.

If Penrith can cut Luke Lewis just to send a message to everyone else then we can ass Farah. It's what's needed to instantly create a new attitude.

A lot of concentration on Robbie. I saw Potters comments very differently in that he probably wanted to pick his own assistants but was told he didn't have that choice. When you want to be the coach and pick your own support, yet the CEO and board appoints your assistants for you…....what other club does this? NONE

I think he outlined Robbie well, very passionate and occasionally a pain in the rear, but I didn't at all get the impression he wanted to take the captaincy from him or that he caused the whole mess. Not at all.

I think there are too many people trying to find a reason to shoot Farah, particularly in the media.

As for him not wanting to play that game, I can understand that. Obviously so could Potter because he said he gives credit for Farah sticking it out and playing, and playing well.

Clearly it is more behind the scenes as far as management, board and CEO that were the issues. I trust him enough to have belief in the new board. He had nothing to gain from commenting, but he does believe the whole situation has now improved.

You can understand a club captain not wanting to play a game because of comments made on radio?

He was happy to leave our young and impressionable squad on their own, that is not leadership.

I think Robbie would be a far better player without the captaincy and have thought that for a while Swordy

This isn't a personal attack at all on Robbie , I wonder if you asked Robbie what was more important to him , winning another premiership or being WT's captain what would be more important to him ??

Our captain lost most of my support the day that many of us went along to ANZ in a disillusioned mood to watch the dragons game. The little empathy I still felt, left with him, as he absconded from Campbo the following week.

Should have given him a key to the exit door at the following recovery session. His mate sticky and the raiders probably would have sillyly jumped at the chance after their own couple of months from hell.

I have no doubt that he was the chief operator in getting rid of another coach. Not only should Potter have been allowed to strip him of the captaincy, playing NSW cup would have been appropriate for mine.

No player should come before the team.
