Meh. For all the Farah-bashing here, I got a totally different impression of this interview. He clearly stated his problems with Robbie, but his real complaint was not having the support to make the decisions he felt needed to be made. I felt he was laying the blame at the feet of Mayer and the board, and the big change he wanted to make was his assistant coaches.
I only got to see the interview this afternoon , read it twice as I was wondering where some on here were using it as confirmation that Farah was white anting Potter .
Unless something was edited out, Potter said that he and Farah were ok but had some issues through the season. How does someone interpret that to mean Farah was white anting anyone . Is he talking about when Farah was talking to him about getting Moses on the field ? Did Farah push for Austin to be in the run on team ? Did Farah tell him that Anasta was a waste of space who knows
My impression of the interview (and the one he did weekend before last ) was the same as you. He was complaining that he didn't have the total support that he needed , and I would imagine that would mean his support staff .
As he mentioned the start of the season, I wouldn't think that there were too many problems at that stage unless he was referring to the lower grade coaches , there's been more than enough to suggest that both lower grade coaches wanted his job.
Some on here have suggested that he didn't get to pick his team. That's laughable, no club has a selection panel any more Potter picked the teams. If things were as bad as the Farah bashers suggest I would have no problems with Potter taking any action he wanted to , and as for anyone saying that he couldn't drop Farah or takethe captaincy off him.
Why didn't he do it, He had no problem when he dropped Marshall .
So why didn't do the same if Farah deserved it.
He was a rookie coach in the NRL , and surely he would have known that he would be judged by all clubs ( and possibly a future employer) on how he handled the team . as well as how they performed on the field .
I think that he would have had much bigger problems in other areas, but it's convenient for some here to add to the list of unproved accusations , It would be a good for those people to watch the interview again and then tell us all , thewhat in that interview supports their argument that Farah caused his sacking. (Try and stick to the facts))
Mayer is the only person in the club who was able to make a recommendation to the Board and he is certainly not about to take any advice from Robbie Farah . The new board is obviously not stupid , but as they have little knowledge of the game , would probably have taken the CEOs recommendation .
Intelligently written post. I heard it the same as you goldcoast tiger. You are not alone :sunglasses:
