Mick Potter on the Sunday Footy Show

I don't know about you but that confirms for me that Robbie caused him plenty of trouble

I had a similar situation when I was coaching an under 10 team. As the team walked onto the field for the start of the game the youngster who I had selected and had spent a lot of time training as dummy half suddenly sat down on the halfway kick-off point and wouldn't budge. The reason was, he told me, was because he was refusing to play dummy half. Anyway the start of play was delayed for around 5 minutes whilst so many including the referee tried to encourage the boy to stand up and play the game. Finally, kick-off took place after the boy's his mother came from the sideline and had a quiet but stern chat with her son. I know how you feel Mick - the trials of being a coach.

Everything keeps pointing back to Farah.

We have been a boys club that have divided sheds and have been shafting coaches for about 5 years.Benji leaves after rumors he or robbie got rid of sheens and yep the coaches keep on getting shafted by "someone" well after Benji and Stephen Humphreys leaves.Mayer has been here one year and a few "select" people on here want to blame him for a culture that started well before he got here by "someone".When all this came out a poster on here even had the audacity to call me a freaking racist when I questioned "someone" aka Robbie Farah for his antics.Unlike the person accusing me of racism I will continue to blame the arsonist and not the freaking fireman.

Farah needs to be shown the door .. He's the true petulant child .. He'd be better off writing sympathy cards for Hallmark !!!
I have no respect for him anymore and will NOT renew my membership next year because of this .

We have had two coaches in ten years. Pretty stable compared to a lot of other clubs. Farah may have had something to do with both coaches being sacked and or not having their contracts renewed, but both coaches also have to own the fact that their own performances for whatever reason were deemed not good enough.

My child plays soccer in the inner west where a parent of a child had a coaching roll within the Wests Tigers a few years ago and who still has a roll within the club. I said to him that I felt a little sad re Benji going but I guess that the trouble will now stop and we can have a team that worked for each other…. He turned to me and told me that it's not Benji that we had to worry about it was Farah who calls the shots and that we will never go anywhere unless Farah is shown the door or put in his place. I think his a great player who needs to be put in his place we can't keep changing coaches, players and anyone Farah doesn't get along with it's time he to was accountable for where we finish the season as well for $900k pa I think KPI's should also be met by him

I hope Griffin is appointed coach…he has the balls to dump Farah as captain...that's exactly the message Farah and the WT needs...2015 the year Farah either toes the line or f**ks off..Farah has been a cancer in this club for too long....I'd prefer the latter as IMO Cherrington will be a very good hooker in 1,2 years.

Is there a mentally weaker player in the NRL? Not wanting to play because of comments on the radio which only came out because he got his manager to ring the radio station to defend him. He's pathetic, and I'm sure the new coach will be taking all this in. Hopefully he gets the board backing this time to deal with him.

We have sacked two coaches in 3 years. This is a direct result of Robbies building ego and after getting his own way for too long it has just snowballed into one massive trainwreck in regards to Robbie Farah and not having the slightest bit of integrity.I soooo hope the first thing our new coach does is strip Robbie of the captaincy and let it be known robbie is to shut up and play football and only football. If he doesnt like it he can rack off.

Especially given the fact that Robbie himself admitted to saying these things about Potter.Sorry wobbie you light fires youll get burnt occasionally pal. What a troublemaker. What we need is to develop a culture where we have the mental strength of the German football team who have won so many world cups and games etc despite the opposition seemingly being more talented over the years. What we get with Robbie and the tigers at the moment is about as far away as you can get from that german mental strength. We need more of a Des Hasler type of discipline.

Potter said twice today that Farah is so passionate about the club. If Robbie is so passionate about the club how come everything he does destabilises it? I just don't get it - weird kind of passion if you ask me. If he just pulled his head in and concentrated on playing good football with the team, over the last third of the season, then they may well have been playing finals footy - which is exactly what a person who is passionate about their club would've wanted (I think 😕 ).

Mind you, I reckon the Brian Smith review didn't help our cause either. You could see how much Potter thought that it was a waste of time. Whoever orchestrated this has to take some of the blame for derailing the club, also. The timing of it was terrible - do it at season's end for God's sake!

Robbie needs to be put in his place 100% agree, but he cant be blamed for where we have finished on the table, recruitment, and the performance of those around him. I don't know him so have no clue what sort of man he is, but he can play, is a fierce competitor, representative player, and up until the St George game was in great form - its up to the coach and club to manage him, as it is happens with elite players at other clubs - many who have an ego just as big as Farahs. I guess it comes down to who you believe is more valuable to your club, your best players or the coach, and that seems to be a divided opinion among the fans.

If this is what we can expect from Farah for 3 more years at 2.7 million … I'd take the coach myself .

Fair enough - as long as the coach is getting the results - hard to disagree

We all feel for mp but the Farah bashing is a bit sad but each to your own opinions that's fine but here is a fact potters win percentage 31% FACT now imo that is not good enough his team selection of

I hope that this is the last of the Mick Potter discussions.
