Mid Season- how do you think WT are going

The difficulty in this thread is recency bias. 4 weeks ago the tigers were playing as well as I can even remember. I would have given them an A+.

But unfortunately the season isn't 6 weeks long!

Tigers have always in the last however many years been rocks and diamonds, but this year... 😳

The players unavailable right now softens the blow a little, but they're still playing terribly - no two ways about it...

Bigger picture, there is a lot to be optimistic about. Thankfully all the HBG crap hasn't carried over. That we know of, anyway.

Benji has actually surprised me. I think he is doing as well as you could expect, and credit to him having them playing how they were.

Recruitment/retention imo has been excellent. Jarome hasn't been what we'd hoped and I think it's great roster management he's off after '27. The extensions are awesome; add the Fainus and that's an A too.

Onfield/ladder position: balancing the good and bad - slightly below expectation

Everywhere else: exceeding expectations.

Benji surprised me also picking Mason the midget over Skelton the Slayer.
Otherwise your assessment is fair. Especially the injury part.

Just like Galvin last year our season this year has been derailed by Jarome.

Mid-season signings need to stop. There's plenty of time after October to get the business side of footy sorted.

In saying that, I feel like we will go on a winning run, and we'll sneak into the 8.

At full strength we are bottom half top eight standard. With our current injuries we are bottom three standard. We certainly lack the speed required to play the game they have invented. With players slowly coming back from injuries I see a improvement but can’t see us finishing anywhere close to the eight

Im concerned we will find it hard to find our groove again even if we get all our injured players back on deck
Earlier the way we were playing ...looking at the draw from here on...Id be confident of at least another 6 to 8 wins for the back half of the season....wouldve put us plus 32 comp points
All I can go on is our history and im not confident...I hope Im wrong and we can get back into the groove quickly and start playing good footy....good tough footy attacking with line speed and no bloody arm grabbing...I'll be pleasantly surprised to get back there
Once bitten twice shy.

Probably regressed to the mean. Whilst the side was playing well, I thought we were pretty lucky coming up against some teams missing players and we had some favourable calls.
We are now the side missing players and not getting the favourable calls. The concern isn't the losses but the style of losses of late.
I do think we are still a hope of finals with no Origin disruption and games against Dragons X 2, Dogs X 2, Titans and Eels. I however think we fall just short.
Falling a little short is what I expected preseason, though I never thought we'd be a genuine chance to make the 8. So I guess there has been some progression and slightly exceeded my preseason expectations but if we don't make the 8 ultimately will be very disappointing.

We have lost a great deal of momentum because of our injuries/suspension,i honestly think it will take time to recover even when we get closer to full strength especially with the history of extensive failure that we have.
I hope for the best but am preparing for another year of failure. The scariest part is if we do fail who knows what the collective imbeciles on HBG will do in response because it won't be good.

The Knights lost a lot of momentum from early in the season once they got injuries too. Then Ponga and co came back and they got right back into it. No reason we can’t.

Mid season grind kills us every year, okay injuries are a big factor, but it happens every year. Depth is a major factor but I guess there is no team in the NRL can cope with your 1 7 9 plus a couple of others on the sidelines.
Regaining momentum will be the hard thing to achieve, plus the so called weaker teams are getting better

I’m still hoping we sneak into the 8 , prior to injuries we were going good enough to play finals footy , hard part is the injuries don’t bring the players back all at once , we get one hear and there so we still be lacking full strength for a while yet , can we get going again I think yes but Benji will need to be getting that happy feel around the joint back quick , if we keep loosing over the next 3 to 4 rounds I think it’s all over , we need a win while low on troops , not sure who is back next game but hope it’s a couple players , we also need to keep using reserves in there positions like say Roberts , use him as a back rower full time and he will improve as we go and could be very handy come end of season if we sneak into finals , think we fight to the death for 8 th

You don’t think injuries have derailed us? 🤔
Sure. We also had a lot of injuries in '25. Pole, Twal, Naden, and Laulilii were out for a while. Which proves we lacked depth, just like this year.

However, I believe losing a key player through a signing mid-season does more damage to the playing group than depth.

In this case, it's our captain. This could have been done at the end of the season.

Hard to compare the players currently out to twal /pole/naden.

💯 One by one as the quality players return the wins will come with it . definitely top 8 , before the injury toll I had us top 4 or 5💥

Correlation does not automatically equate to causation.
