Miller dumped to NSW Cup, Anasta to 6

i hope this will make Jacob more determined to improve himself as a Halfbck with more confidence look at Daniel Mortimer he helped Parramatta get to a Grand Final in 09 then was forgotten about for 3 years he is killing it now,its up to Miller to steer himself to where he wants to be.

Well if Anasta does not take over kicking duties and control the game more it will tell us one thing we have always know about Benji and Robby!!!I would although like to see Teddy moved to fullback.

how do you expect a kid halfback to grow if you keep dropping him every second week here and there.

there are many less performing people in anasta, lawrence etc yet they seem to be there week in week out..this kid gives his 100% every week, no questions asked.. gets treated like crap regardless.

im more than happy to be proven wrong, but regardless of the outcome, imma stick by what i said.. a stupid decision

Good to see Potter gave the kid a go 4 rounds I thought miller has been ok but as I've stated elsewhere Anasta is a waste in the back row it doesn't work,I don't know if halfback is the answer I doubt he will play it in a traditional sense,Anasta needs to get involved more he isn't a rubbish player he can take a game by the scruff of the neck and can kick long and short, might work time will tell I think it's a knee jerk reaction or a kick in the bum to benji to say if you won't spark us ill bing in someone who will

it's amazing how people focus so much on the results.

And you are focussed on… sportsmanship? Awesomeness of haircuts?

the end result.. people forget the process, wanna jump to conclusions seeing what the end result is.

anasta and marshall combo may work but there could be other factors like having a backrow that has go forward (getting anasta out of there) or that robbie does more kicking in general play than marshall which didnt happen when miller was there… we cant get any worse, we are bound to get better, miller shouldnt have been the one to get the axe.

my first reaction was disbelief , but i believe other teams are starting to target him because his defence is quite brittle, wich may have been a reason why he's been dropped. We still have options of switching moltzen to half and tedesco to fullback with the side chosen, it's not ideal , but lets wait and see if it works out.

You know what. I do not see this as a condemnation of Jacob.

More that we need an experienced voice with authority to put Benji in his box when he needs to be and get us working as a traditional team and let Benji play off the back of that.

Miller was for the most part being ignored and not speaking up. Directing the State Cup side will be of great benefit

Are you joking because I assume you are.

If not I apologise in advance.

it had to happen,Anasta is wasted as a second rower, something had to be done :righton:

This is the reality of the situation. I would have dumped Anasta but that is hard to do.

We've set ourselves back four weeks… Lui was persisted with for two years and ended up becoming a great fit as a third playmaker, and willing to assert his dominance.

Why aren't people willing to afford a dozen game rookie the same concessions? Anyhow, I hope three things come of this move:

1\. Anasta gets more involved;
2\. Our fringes stiffen up and leak less points;
3\. If it fails miserably, it isn't tried again.

Most of us have been here through it all, the failures and successes. Potter is finding out things for the first time at our club. Mistakes will be made, but its how he handles them that will define his career.

Sheens seemingly was unable to accept certain things, and persisted to the point where everyone lost faith.

The next 6 months will be interesting thats for sure.

Better defence, better kicking game, more experience, better attacking skills -I'm not sure what miller could offer over this option which was always my preferred option from when we signed Anasta.

Miller will IMO never play Nrl again.

I think our next halfback will be brooks or Sironen

I think this is a very impatient decision. Miller would have come good if given the chance. I hated having Lui in the side for the majority of his first year but to his credit (or stubborness), Sheens stuck with him and he was an asset by the time we sacked him.

On a side note…Roosterman has been proven to be 100% correct with braith so far...
Returning poor stats = check
Goes missing = check
In the media = check
Got himself moved to the halves = check

Seems like a double whammy though for Jacob….Potter finally improves the pack/bench...yet he gets the punt, anyone else incoming will find it a little easier than hes had it to start with

Miller is unlucky. I really don't rate him on his performances in first grade but he has been improving and hasn't been bad. I think he has copped the rough end of the deal here.

One of our main problems has been the small backrow. It was always a problem with Anasta being signed. To add to that no coach wants to drop him because he is a marquee player.

This though is a much better looking team than what we have had and I guess we have to be happy with that.

exactly

x3\. We need someone who is not afraid to talk over the top of Benji out on the field. Marshall at times is guilty of trying to do too much, which I think in turn ruins his running game because he's so focused on trying to organise everything else. Anasta is a good talker and hopefully he'll be allowed to use his kicking game and take some pressure off Marshall and Farah.

You are kidding yourself if you didn't see this move coming at some point this year. As for miller, he won't be here next year I fully expect him to be released by June 30

doubt it.

Injuries and a few loses has Potter looking for a combination he thinks will work. It is unfortunate for Miller and I hope he gets another go especially if Potter's selection changes (Anasta) don't work, nonetheless Potter is trying different combinations so people won't be left wondering a big test though against the premiers.

People are kidding themselves if they think Miller will be back. IMO he won't play first grade again this year. Sad really.

Question: I heard Braith cannot pass left to right well. Does that mean that he needs to play on the left which is where Benji currently plays (I think). Does that mean Benji moves to Lawrence's side of the field?

PS - I may be totally wrong about this but the shifting of Braith may have more changes in it that just his position!
