Mitch brown in the local paper

Brown is an average first grader but his performances at the back end of 2010 were enough to convince me he didn't get a fair go.

and im saying once players leave us not many improve do they

Yep. The thing is how many have we lost that have gone on to bigger and better things. Maybe they didn't have the talent in the first place.

Still I reckon we could do with Mitch at the moment.

Harrison, Teo, Payne, De Gois, Everingham

a few have

Harrison was underperforming at the Tigers and was a complete defensive liability. I wanted him to stay but most wanted him to leave.

Teo wanted to go. Good riddance.

Payne was a handy player but not a world beater. He was never going to win us games.

De Gois wanted to play first grade and wouldnt behind Farah. So he left.

Not sure what point these names seek to establish.

Simple realy. Its in reply to the arguement that no player has gone on to better their career after leaving. The circumstances of how they left is irrelavent

Brown played Aust schoolboys.
Was good under the high ball, strong defender, ran hard
That last bit probably did him in
He had real pace as well as that chase on (i think mead who is rated as very quick) showed a couple of years back

Wasn't fussed with his departure but he was completely mis-used by Sheens here. Was never a front rower.

I thought he was. The Harrison Galea front row combination worked a treat in that 50,000 to 6 drubbing by Parramatta at ANZ stadium. I am trying to remember which parra plodder we made look like Dally Messenger that day. Luke Burt is a given, did Ben Smith play ?

If there is one thing the tigers can do it is to give some journeyman plodder his first hat trick, RLW 10 rating, first try, comparison to Gasnier/Raper/Beetson and the like.

I thought it was Payne and Galea starting front rowers, with Harrison off the bench, but I can't remember.

We certainly have a knack of making poor players look like superstars.

Would Brown be getting a run for us now if he hadn't left, considering injuries and form?

Maybe, Moltzen stays 7 (which I think was Sheens' hope), Humble 14, Brown 1….but I doubt it.

If brown stayed with Wests , he would have hit the no 1 jersey after tedescos injury , and if he stayed fit would have kept
It for The next 25 rounds

Spot on Rambo - he must be kicking himself now.
Still we just signed Ray Cashmere to replace him - maybe Sheens plan is to play him at fullback!

and would have killed it too in the one

Humble and Tedesco were ahead of Brown in the pecking order. But Brown was ahead of Meany and would have got his chance by now if he had stayed. It will be interesting to see if the poor guy cracks a spot at Canterbury I hope he does.
