Moses turns down 3mil x 3years to sign a 2 year 1.4mil deal? Now we all know that tigers never even offered MM even close to that so it's all been spin from his management to make it look like he's leaving for different reasons.
Here's the facts.
Cleary requested to look over all new contract offers last Friday, he revised brooks tedescos and woods offers. Brooks and woods less money Tedesco offer was increased. Completely took Moses off the table until the 3 of them made their decisions due to already reported cap issues for 2018 with NRL. Now Moses offer from what I was told was around 720k a season for 3 years. If the NRL didn't increase the cap that was gonna drop a significant amount as cap pressure would of became to much and we would of had to release players for next year anyway, and Cleary wants to be active in the player market as he knows where he needs to strengthen the team and doesn't want to be hamstrung by cap restraints.
Cleary seems content to go through 2018 without a big name 5/8 so he can bolster the forwards and backs and will most likely look to sign a top flight half next year if they can't get one at a decent price this year.

Thank god Cleary is showing common sense in all of this. That's the way it should be, strengthen up our forward pack for starters, then the rest will fall into place.

Roberts was said to be on 400K at the Titans but had problems at times with the grog at the Knights if anyone was watching the Titans games last year you would notice the difference in Ash Taylor's games when he had Roberts next to him he played so much better with Roberts in the team maybe he can do the same for Brooks

Problem there is you can't have another inexperienced half come in, though he would be on bottom dollar.
Definitely would consider Daniel Mortimer at 5/8, one last shot at redemption.
Luke Walsh is another option, he and brooks would complement eachother. Brooks into 5/8 where he can play a natural running game and Walsh at halfback where he can control, he has a great kicking game. He was tearing it up at Penrith under Cleary.
In the forwards, I think Mose Masoe would also be a good signing, he played consistently well in his last season at Penrith. Question is though, does he feel like he needs to prove something at the Dragons?

Yeh Roberts is not a "main man" half, he's the assistant who plays off the back of the other half organising. Super talented player. Could be a cheap and successful combination for us. At worst he's at least versatile, so if he doesn't grab the 6 with both hands he can be used in other roles.
I'd take Walsh simply because he can kick. We've long missed a kicker with a good long game.
He's a little one dimensional outside of that but his kicking game alone would win us more games than not.

Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary says Mitchell Moses will play hard for rest of NRL season

NEW Wests Tigers coach Ivan Cleary is adamant five-eighth Mitchell Moses will play hard for his teammates against the Cowboys on Saturday night and for the rest of the year, despite asking for an immediate release. Moses has signed a two-year deal with Parramatta from next season and wanted to link with the Eels this year, but the Tigers rejected the request. It continues a week of turmoil for the Tigers after the sacking of Jason Taylor just three rounds into the season.
Asked if Moses was still fully committed to the cause at Friday’s captain’s run, Cleary said: “I haven’t seen anything there to suggest otherwise. “The reality is there’s been a lot of distractions but from what I’ve seen, he’s focused and looking forward to playing.” The Tigers issued a statement this week confirming Moses had asked for a release, and had taken his contract offer off the table to focus on re-signing James Tedesco and Aaron Woods.
All eyes will be on the trio to see how they aim up as they weigh up interest from the likes of Canterbury and the Roosters. “We took the (Moses) contract off the table with a view to looking at it again,” Cleary said. “This is purely a risk assessment for the club with what was forecast with the changing of the salary cap. “These contracts have been on the table for a long time, there’s a lot of money involved, we have to do some prioritising. “Mitchell has a contract as part of this team and I would expect him to play as he could and I”m sure that will happen.”
Cleary admitted being in Townsville and away from the Sydney fishbowl would help his team focus purely on football against a Cowboys side which has won four of five games. “In a way it’s been good to come up here and get out of Sydney,” Cleary said. “We’ve got a game on Saturday and at the end of the day the performance on the weekend is the window where everyone else sees the club. “I don’t know what morale was like before, but it feels like it’s pretty good in there right now. “The boys play and they’re the ones who can go out with some more certainty and look forward to doing what they do best, we’re taking on a very good Cowboys team.”
The Cowboys were ambushed 30-8 at home by Manly in round three when they were also under extreme media heat, and coach Paul Green hasn’t wasted any chance to remind his side of that fact.
He described the clash as a “danger game” earlier this week and is preparing for a Tigers backlash.
“You go back to the Manly game, I’m not saying we took them lightly we were maybe a little tired there, but some of our little efforts weren’t there in that game,” Green said. “It shouldn’t take too much to remind them of what we’re talking about when we talk about complacency.”

Not silly, I was thinking the same thing and posted something earlier. This is setting up for a backflip, it's a definite possibility. We've seen this happen in the most unlikely circumstances, but this situation seems more likely.
I don't think anyone actually knows whether he's signed a contract with Parra, Moses hasn't said anything himself and Parra have been quiet too. It's hard to believe he signed straight away after being told the offer was off the table. As it stands he'll be hanging around for the rest of the year and when the other 2 make up their minds a contract may be offered again by the club.

Moses wasn't told he wasn't wanted, he was told he was third in line (behind two origin players)
Little mosey doesn't like being told and treated like he wasnt the big kahuna so he threw his toys out of the cot....simple.....
