Mitch Moses

Reynolds is 10 cm shorter, weighs 10kg more then moses (although about the same size as brooks) and was 21 when he debuted. Give brooks and Moses are 18 and will be 21 in 2016 we can expect to weight 3 years . Daly cherry Evans was also 21 when he made his debut. Given those numbers we generally shouldn't expect much out of either for 3 more years

I think the hardest part will be keeping them both at the club for 3 more years! They're the hottest halves pairing coming through the ranks by far and retaining them is going to be hard. Especially if we sign Benji for another 3-4 years. They may look for better opportunities.

I'd be locking them into 3 or 4 year cheap contracts with options for further years and upgrades (eg. Cherry-Evans). They'll be around 21 by then and we will have a better idea if their kicking on. Similar to how Miller was handled (except I think he deserved a better chance, but good luck to him if he heads to Hull)

Also , extending Tedesco and giving Cherrington an extension also. They're our future spine.

Was training with the first grade side today. Any news whether he is being named this week to play ahead of Brooks or something? Not very likely but possible. He is not that small he is about the same size as Kaysa Pritchard who is going fine. I was thinking that Potter is planing

6\. Moses
7\. Brooks

14\. Marshall

Pretty crazy I know but it may actually happen if Potter is serious.

It is pretty crazy, Moses would get destroyed in FG and he needs to bulk up quite a bit if he's going to walk off the field after a game.

i dont think so. anyone remember how small adam reynolds was last year

about 3 years older and 10kg bigger than mitch.

I like the kid as a player and he has massive potential, but he has a small frame and will have to work hard his whole career to get enough bulk on to meet the demands of nrl, he is not a good candidate for a super early debut.
I don't believe the old adage that if you are old enough you are good enough, often theyoungsters pay the price later

TBH I think we should lock up Brooks, Moses and Tedesco on 3-5 year deals really soon. Brooks, Moses and Teddy are highly rated by not only us but other teams.

I am sorry but they are 19 - 20 year olds…..tell them to come back in 10 years when they are in their 30's.

Reckon we could be in for one of the biggests shocks in Tigers history

I am all for it happy, they can't be worse than our current 6 and 7,we have zero attack now,so we need a change.

I think the difference with between Brooks/Moses and Adam Reynolds is the fact that Reynolds was a rookie around a big strong forward pack that would and does help him in defence.

With our youngsters, they will unfortunately be forced to do their fair share of defence.

This is IMO part of the reason why Sironen has looked better than Miller in 1st grade. He's an oversized halfback.

I wouldn't debut them until we have some troops back later in the year but we may be forced to throw them in the deep end.

I'd be surprised if they were debuted this weekend. South Sydney is a monster of a footy team, and the current competition leaders. It would be a tough enough assignment with everyone on deck, nevermind half the side out.

The playing styles are exactly what makes Luke & Mitch such a deadly combination in the halves.

When it comes time I would blood them both

THIS.

This is exactly the thing I've noticed when I see them play together. Brooks is a half in the Cooper Cronk mould who is a great organiser and can take the line on. Moses has a lethal running game and plays what's in front of him.

They're both carving up the U20s already this year. As Smeg said, their best attribute is them as a unit. I say stick them both in State Cup together now because the more they play together the better they'll be when they come in to firsts.

These boys are dominating the 20s the same way Lui, Woods, Fifita, Dwyer and Tedesco did. There's something special brewing here if we treat them correctly.

x 2 But as long as everyone is prepared for them to have defensive issues and will accept it , lets do it :sign:

Are you suggesting that they both might be picked today?

I'm suggesting whenever this occurs, whether its this wek or 6 weeks down the track ,we need to accept that they will have defensive issues as bad if not worse than Rob Lui's

As I said, we will reap the rewards if we treat them correctly. To me that means looking at how all the other young halves in this era have come along - DCE, both Reynolds boys etc .. They all debuted at 21 and after playing a season in a senior competition. I'm happy to hold Brooks and Moses off until they're a bit older but I do believe putting them in State Cup now will be beneficial.

Ah ok I was just referring to your "in for a shock post" thought you might have had the inside tip. I'll tell you what if they were both thrown in together this week they'd be our best performed halves pairing since Marshall and Lui and I would be doing it and giving Marshall a couple of weeks off "to heal".

Marshalls performances have backed Potter into a corner really ,if he doesn't act soon ,someone will have to act soon . Potter has to make some big calls eventually or as a coach we just have a cheaper version of Sheens

It's getting to the point where I'd rather we lose 30-42 than 6-36… At least you can edit some decent highlights to watch later

Let's also keep in mind that although we are all eager to see these boys play firsts and be locked up in deals that prevent poaching from other clubs, they have been on our radar for a very long time and are surely very much the focus of the club's future. First grade emergence does not happen overnight, nor do long-term deals, nor does poaching from other clubs, so we just need to hold our hats and see how things unfold.

That being said, if the lads are physically up to the challenge of playing firsts, get them in there. If this season is doing to the dogs (not the bulldogs) then why not have them try out their wares in games of less importance.

Mitch Moses is a brilliant player he has loads of confidence and will try anything on the field…I love the way he plays.
But if he comes into the team and is forced into the Potter way of playing (whatever that is) and is not allowed to play his natural game that will quickly erode that confidence.

I like the idea of putting both boys in State Cup and get use to building up a combination and defending against man.

Once they have had a month together and are performing then put them in NRL at Marshall's expense.

No way should they line up against Souths. Best and most physical side in the comp.

From what I'm reading, do people think that Moses should take over from Benji sooner rather than later??

Benji's contract runs out at the end of 2014 doesn't it?

If so, then Moses should be the ready replacement with Brooks making the Halves pairing.

In that case, no contract extension for Benji…....
