Mitch Rein

No to Mitch Rein - thanks.

For 2017, we won't be spending much money on recruiting so I expect JT will substitute Liddle for Halatau building him up over time to play more minutes. Rankin will still be used the same way - any money available should go towards securing ET. I wouldn't expect many changes from JT next season.

In my view before recruiting a hooker, we should be looking for a speedy winger and a centre, and a quality backrower and one of them needs to be able to kick goals at 80% plus.

If Ballin is fit it will be Ballin/Liddle.

Hasnt had the best year? What's wrong with the Rankin/Liddell combo? Spend the money on a forward or winger? I kinda like what Penrith did with Wallace and see rankin in a similar role.

Fuel on the fire. Does Rein fit the profile of hooker we want?

Rankin is not first grade material irrespective of position. His service from dummy half is abhorrent and he is a weak defender. There is no place for him in our team.

Comparing a player like Wallace to Rankin is ridiculous.

I agree he is not a first grade player but he is who JT is using. (I'm not having a dig at JT)

And you are a 100% right he doesn't hold a candle to Wallace. Mine wasn't a comparison to Wallace on a skill level it was mearlly a positional comparison.

If we make the eight and ballin is not returning or fit can you see JT changing the dummy half structure for 2017?

In an ideal world you would have a dummy half and bring Liddell along.

If JT doesn't change the dummy half structure for 2017 then it's further proof he has no idea what he's doing. If Liddle is our future hooker then just put him there from day 1 and be done with it. I would take an inexperienced Liddle over Rankin any day. At least he has some idea what he's doing.

Alternatively just go to market and buy any hooker that's available - they'll be better than Rankin.

Absolutely agree - Rankin is only holding the position to serve another purpose. No one should accept this as anything other than a makeshift solution.

I really hope you are right, we don't need this again next year, we need Liddle/Ballin at hooker and a proper winger not Rankin.

It's obvious that it will be Ballin/Liddle in 2017\. Rankin is a stop gap, due to us not having an available hooker.

Its no a brainer that it will be Liddle/Ballin. Can't see what the fuss is about.

No fuss, just speculating. Given his injury and what happened this season will Ballin make the season and if he doesn't what will happen?

Just discussing with fellow supporters.

If it was that simple with JT then the minute be dropped farah he would have put cherrington on the bench. But he didnt and resorted to re-shuffling half the team to not play a recognised hooker. What guarantees are there next year that Ballin will be fit or even play after consecutive knee operations. With farah gone, halatau gone, cherrington gone, if ballin pulls up lame then he might start putting rankin there.

You will soon find TIGER COME LATELY, that the JT forum police will be onto you for anything that even slightly resembles a go at JT's tactics lol.

He might put Rankin there. But that doesn't necessarily mean he'll play wing and re-shuffle the backline. But then again, he might. With all the talk, you'd think that this tactic has backfired spectacularly, yet we've won 4 games and are on the brink of a finals birth. Go figure.

He might and he might not. Weve not said the tactic has been unsuccessful. In fact in previous post I have said that it is an option. However, all that aside are we not as forum partisapants entitled to an opinion. It doesn't matter if we all think the same or not. That's the point of a forum, to discuss views and ideas. We agree, we disagree as long as we don't slag anyone and we don't push someone because their view is different ours.
We all want our team to be successful we just have different ideas on how that may take place.
Oh and I did get a warning but there was no reason why and the link to the post I was being warned about is blank? Maybe it is for this as Tiger2005 suggested and if it is 😱pen_mouth:

Conceding that im not sure what he will do in that scenario is hilarious to you? Right

I agree with whatever wins us games, and that tactic has won us games, like it or lump it. It seems as though that tactic is the target of so much criticism as a result of there really not being to much to complain about the last 2 months, so that seems like the best excuse to have a whinge. Not as good as some whinging that where we are still isn't good enough, because apparently we're a top 4 side (despite the same people will whinge about Rankin, Lovett, Edwards, Lawrence etc) all of a sudden. But its a pretty decent whinge nevertheless.

There seems to be a lot of this going around lately. Almost the new forum trend that when someone disagrees with someone else, the go to line is ''i have a right to my opinion''. I don't think i have ever read, anywhere on this forum anyone saying you aren't. You're right, we are all passionate, and as a result we all argue our points passionately. But there is a big difference in telling someone they are wrong in their opinion and backing it up with an explanation as to why, and simply telling them they are not entitled to believe what they say.

Ok, I hear you but I think maybe my point was missed, when it comes to opinions there is no right or wrong. It just someone's point of view. You can agree or disagree but you shouldn't say they are wrong. If someone is quoting or claiming a stat or figure an event to be something that it isn't then they can be right or wrong.
I'm new to forums and this forum and have read a few threads a lot of "great view points" but I do note that some do tend to jump on people who don't share their opinions and some vehemently push the point, maybe that's why you are seeing people use the go to line "i have a right to my opinion" more and more? I don't mind discussions and debates in fact my career is built on it but what I do like and you have pointed it out as well, is the passion that we all have for our club!

Maybe some feedback for you to take on board. Whenever i have read the i have a right to my opinion its generally been with someone your talking to. So maybe something for you to take on board and take it a notch back with people who dare to have an opinion thats different to yours.
