"Until that time it is not appropriate to comment further. However, it is incumbent of accredited agents to be familiar with, and abide, by the NRL rules in regard to contract negotiations. Suggestions, as have been put forward by the NRL and St George Illawarra, that an agent's conduct is questionable is something that the accreditation scheme treats seriously and would obviously want to investigate."

The Agents accreditation scheme is just crap it means nothing. Having been involved with many junior players I have seen what a despicable and ruthless bunch these "people" are.

There are a number of agents who's behavior is questionable and who I have personally informed Cadigan of and he has done nothing about it.

Neil Cadigan investigating players agent behaviour  Now that is funny.

could not agree more. The agents are getting players younger and younger and the treatment of players is at times terrible. With exceptions, some seem excellent to their clients, others horrible.
Just this year we saw a young half back from the parrmatta with the world at his feet have his career torn away due to near enough to illegal advice from his manager. As a 19 year old kid, and your manager asks you to put a bet on, very understandable.

Who you talking bout here goose? Daniel Mortimer???

no, the kid that was roped into the tandy betting scandal by his manager…..since it is in the media I guess I can say, Brad Murray

That's a great post Goose. While I think the onus is on the younger players and their significant others/families to be a little more educated about major career decisions that are to be made so they aren't putting their careers in jeopardy, the largest part of the issue is the players agents treating young talent like cattle. It's fitting that you note Brad Murray, his career is probably ruined because of Sam Ayoub.

I'm mixed on player agents… I think they are good in some aspects ie getting players endorsement deals and securing futures but at the same time they can be a detriment to the game.

I guess as a young player trying to make it I would want an outside source doing my bidding for me and trying to secure an upstart to my career. Situations like what we saw with tim is mainly wests fault. Tauber is a victim of some bad faith on wests behalf yes he jumped the gun but humphreys did pit the bullet in the chamber.

Yeah I really don't blame Tauber, for all intents and purposes Wests had given him the go ahead. If not for the Lui saga they'd have let Moltz go. Kind of feel sorry for the guy

Anyway I'm just glad I can shed some light on issues with our club with you all. Being part of this organization is pretty amazing and I'm blessed to be in this position.

I will continue to inform u guys with everything I can but please understand that it does take sometime for these announcement to be made public so I just try to give our fans the heads up to end speculation. From my first post on here I've tried to be as informative as I can for u guys and thankfully I haven't met much hate or moderation on my information.

For example guys on how long it takes for announcements becoming public. Adam Blair signed with us about 8 weeks before it was announced. Lote was signed about 3 months before it was made "official" in the papers. Chris Lawrence contract extension was done a long time before the announcement was made official as well.

There is alot that goes on behind closed doors that people don't know about/understand and it's only because of the position I'm in that I understand it and I'm going to do my best to let u guys know what's happening within our club so that we don't find out when the rest of the country does.

I'm sure many would understand that a lot goes on behind closed doors that can't be made public smoking gun and that is why organisations don't like their employees divulging information until the organisation is ready to do it officially or via planned leaks. So if you do work for WTs then your posts are either sanctioned or you are taking a fair risk. On the other hand you may have a club source instead.

Cunno alot of people work in this organization and I'm at no risk of being identified… There are people who leak information to the papers in every club I'm not one of them I do it for the fans on this forum. There are also others on this forum who have inside info who use it for good as long as that's the case I'm sure the moderators won't have a problem with it.

In regards to player contracts their is a "cooling" period of 4 weeks in most cases. That's why there are a lot of delays in official announcements even though the rumor mill is usually in action for a few weeks/months prior.

This guy hasn't got a shoulder problem, but his problem is very close.

I have to say I appreciate it Smoking Gun!! It's clear to see you aren't out to make a name for yourself and you just want to give some clarity to people on here who bleed black and gold, like yourself.

I've been supporting the Tigers since I was 5 years old (Balmain), and I'm glad for once I can see how the inner club works! I think it always helps to shed light on some of things that can sometimes seem baffling. Or that the club is pursing exciting options that sometimes just don't pan out (i.e. Dugan)
