Moltzen Staying Or Going

Oh I see whats happening ''answering'' questions with questions….theyre not really answers

Seems to me swordy youre saying they never wanted to release him in the first place?

Hard to tell what youre saying

Didn't they say look but you may not get the release. I think with moltzen it was always going to be well complicated as the dragons race the gun and released it without the knowledge of the tigers and and probably moltzen nd his manager that's probably why it's ended up like this if they asked the tiger about releasing it they mite have release him then and there

I love T-moltz and think he is a star. But he signed a 3 year deal in good faith that he would be released and I'm sure that's what they told the dragons. The dragons have a right to be pissed and the tigers have taken a credibility hit.

But I'm glad he is staying we are a better team for it

I think his manager went to the Tigers looking for an upgrade or an extension. Tigers said No. His manager said he could get more elsewhere. Tigers said We have you next year, but feel free to look around, knock yourself out. We are looking to save some dough anyway.

So he looked around, signed without permission, and Dopey Doust announced everything without any discussion. Tigers said to themselves. Oh really…. That's nice. Pigs Bum you're going anywhere because we'd like you to stay.

Never did they say he could go. Never did they agree. Never did they suggest Doust could announce anything.

Now we have a conundrum don't we.

But apparently the contract we had with him FIRST is superseeded by a SECOND contract which is not legal and everyone is looking for excuses as to why the Tigers did everything wrong.

OR

The Tigers told him to get nicked, so he signed with the Dragons and now we are exploiting a loophole and using the release as an excuse to keep him.

Either way, I don't give a rats and he should stay. Oh so sad it was the Dragons too!!! Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of tools (Except maybe the Roosters or the Rabbits or the Broncos or the Storm!)

Your theory has the Tigers changing their mind

Nice try

Too many people speculating and going around in circles on this one. Can't really say it's productive but the end of it all is hopefully within sight once Schubert makes his decision.

Either way try and keep it objective. No one is winning this debate.

It wasn't Moltzen who approached Tigers for an extension, it was another high profile player during the middle of the season. Hence, creating all this mess.

If it wasn't for the Humphries blow up at the time of announcement, I'd be saying that tigers are exploiting a loop whole due to sloppy procedure (from one or both clubs), The fact that Humphries came out so strongly at the time of the announcement makes me think it is possible/likely that the tigers were unsure if they were prepared to release him.

I can't help but feel this is kharma coming back to haunt the dragons. They jinxed it by announcing the signing at a stupid time and now they're eating their own feet.

I don't see that it matters if he signed a contract, especially if that contract wasn't even legally binding, he wants to stay at the tigers, and ultimately it's his interests that should come first. He's the one with the talent, who's earnt something to offer, where he spends that talent should be up to him.

First scenario is that he is not going anywhere. They told him he could look around if he likes and if he finds something, come and see us and we might decide then if we want to let you go. (No mind changing there). He just didn't hear the 'come and see us' part.

I know I'm clutching at straws but as Willow says, no one knows the way it went down, and to blame the Tigers Management is not reasonable given the full facts are not known.

Who was the high profile player in question
It was not like anyone deserved anything extra with the form they were showing at that point in time

Maybe someone who went to another club?

The league should schedule the season opener as a Tigers v Dragons blockbuster.
Watch the high balls and players running through on Moltzen, wearing the number one for one of the clubs.
Fans of both clubs in a frenzy.
I'm sick of all the talk.
I'm sick of the off season.
Bring on the footy.
Let the rivalry continue.

Imo saying that by allowing him to look around theyre contemplating releasing him….

Your long bow would see the likes of farahs, marshalls, every hot players agents coming to clubs saying "I can get my client more elsewhere, can we looksee around?"
If theyre tied up the club tells em to get stuffed, UNLESS they actually do contemplate a release for whatever reason in this case most like salary cap.
If you cannot see the change of heart in your scenario then well maybe you just dont want to.

Just what this thread needs more unanswered questions.
If a player managed to achieve an extension its hardly his fault for any ''mess'', he only has himself to look after, the club is in charge here of overseeing the entire operation, if your statement has any merit any ''mess'' should be attributed to the club, players dont manage salary caps.

I cant believe you guys arnt bored of this….guess it is the off season.

This Shcubert needs a kick up the rear end...seriously, how long does it take to make a decision. Surely if he has the info in front of him it would take all of one hour to decide......or if he has to make phone calls, interview people, surely he could knuckle down and do it in 2 days. How long has it been in his hands for now?

Even funnier is the fact St George are holding onto a player who DOESN'T want to play for them… that is crazy imo.
